As Victor navigate the way outside the city, the horde of zombies approach us like an incoming wave.

“They are coming close!“ Luana's urgent voice crackled through the walkie-talkie we had taken from the SWAT gear.

“Shit!“ I cursed, scanning our surroundings for any possible escape route.

Victor's expression was tense as he focused on navigating the obstacles ahead. The road was cluttered with abandoned vehicles, debris, and dead bodies.

"We need a plan, now!" Victor's voice was edged with urgency. "We can't afford to stay stuck here. It'll be a while before we can go outside the city!"

We're practically not moving, Victor is just making a way. Seeing if there is a bit gap, he will force his way through making a path.

As the truck rumbled forward, the groans and moans of the approaching horde grew louder, filling the air with a sense of incoming danger. Our hearts raced, adrenaline pumping as we braced for the unavoidable clash.

I glanced at the handgun in my waist, Should I shot myself and stop King from shooting? No, I need to see the end of this before anything.

As I moved towards the back seats, a sense of urgency surged through me. "Open the back," I commanded, my voice tinged with determination.

"What?!" Alex's startled voice filled the truck.

"Just do it!" I shouted, my eyes focused on the task ahead.

With a mixture of concern and confusion, Alex obeyed and opened the back door. I climbed my way up to the top of the armored truck, feeling the rush of adrenaline coursing through my veins.

“What in the world are you doing, Siah?! You’ll fall!” Alex protested, anxiety lacing his words.

"Let him be, Alex. If he wants to play hero, let him," King's voice out nonchalantly, added fuel to the tension.

“Shut up! You're the reason why this all happened!“ Alex said in anger

I made my way on the top, “Alright, don't worry. I'm fine, we're moving slow anyway.“ I reassured

Standing atop the truck, I felt the cold breeze against my skin, heightening my senses. My feet trembled slightly and  the hairs on my arms to stand on end, but I steadied myself, taking slow, deep breaths.

Peering through the scope of my assault rifle, I surveyed the approaching horde of zombies. They hadn't noticed us yet. "They still haven't seen us. If I redirect their direction, we might have a chance to escape," I muttered to myself, formulating a plan.

With a firm grip on my rifle, I lowered it and jumped down to Victor's window. "Hey, I'm going to lure them away. I'll stay in touch via the walkie-talkie," I informed him.

"What? No, it's too dangerous!" Victor's concern was evident in his voice.

" I need to do this, Victor. I'm the only one who can do this, keep your family safe... Until we meet again” I said with determination before running towards the approaching horde.

"Siah!" Victor's voice echoed behind me, filled with worry and frustration.

“Shit!“ He exclaimed and slam the steering wheel

"What's going on?" Alex's alarmed question filled the tense atmosphere inside the truck.

"Siah… he is going to lure the undeads away," Victor explained, his eyes fixed on me through the rearview mirror.

“What?!” Alex’s shock was palpable as he made to follow.

“Don’t, Alex. You’d only be a burden to him,” Victor implored.
