Confession

₊˚🖇️✩ ₊˚🎧⊹ ♡

"Y/n-san, I like you!" a boy confessed, bowing to you while extending his hand holding a flower. You are standing on the field during lunch, which means the area is crowded with people.

Everyone paused their activities to look at you. You shifted your gaze to them, which only made you more tense because of the pressure they were giving you.

"I'm sorry, but... who are you again?" you asked the boy hesitantly. He lifted his face and stood firmly after bowing.

"You don't remember? It's me, Michi, the boy you met in the comfort room."

That started to give you a hint. You looked at him from head to toe. A chubby body, his uniform too tight for him, and messy dark hair that only revealed his mouth because a few strands covered his face.

"You even told me that I'm good at drawing," he added, giving you more hints after letting you think for almost two minutes.

Now it made sense. Your admirer was also good at drawing, and now that you remembered Michi and his drawings, you could see the resemblance in the art style of the sketches you received every day.

"Oh," you finally remembered him. You cleared your throat and gulped hard. "Are you the person who sends me those letters?" you asked, referring to the letters he left in your locker each day.

He nodded, his face turning red while curling up his thin crusty lips. "I finally gathered my courage to speak up to you after sending you those letters." He looked up at you but was only met by the disgusted expression on your face.

He thought that by making you smile with those sketches, you liked him as well. He had convinced himself that you were interested in him because you helped him when you collided and picked up his sketches that were scattered on the floor. His heart fluttered when you smiled and complimented his work. No one had ever dared to take even a single glance at them, and he was grateful to you and even made you his muse in all of his artworks.

While you didn't expect someone worse than yourself. When you easily got swayed by how Kaji took care of you, you convinced yourself that you were stooping low because you thought you and he might have a chance to be together. Meanwhile, Michi, just because you showed him kindness, which you showed to everyone, thought it was love. You couldn't get a grip of yourself at the moment.

You knew that rejecting him would hurt so bad and that you would receive backlash from these toxic teenagers watching you. But nevertheless, you still did what you had to do.

"I'm sorry, but I'm in love with someone else," you replied politely and stormed out of the field. You were sure those people ignored and didn't consider your side because they gave Michi pitying looks after your rejection.

You knew how bad it felt to be in his shoes right now. But you couldn't force yourself to reciprocate his feelings, and you never would.
