Chapter 21

Cole's POV

She's such a tease and I love her for it. But I'm going to make sure she's going to regret what she's done. Because of her I have to deal with that moron though, Raphael, and I really don't want to because I know what's going to happen.

Small comments here and there will be thrown, and the result will probably be me ripping his head off and I don't think Samuel would prefer me doing that to his mate leading him to being upset with me. I can't tell if it'll be worth it or not though. He's pretty irritating.

But my mate will surely be facing a punishment, soon. One she and I both, will definitely enjoy. Tears will streak out of her eyes, and she'll be in pain, but she will be begging for more, that's for sure. Just thinking of all this has my dick rock hard, so I start driving with it, unable to do anything about it and trying not to think about it.

Out of nowhere, it began raining, which was weird, so I decided to get into my car. I look out for the two members of my pack which I had appointed to take care of my mate for the nights to follow until she's with me, in my house, my bed.

The second I realised I couldn't have only my eyes on her 24/7 I recruited three pack members who were more than happy to look after their luna at night. I nodded at them telling them they're officially on work starting this moment and they each responded with a nod of their own.

Each member was placed in different places but every one of them could see Michelle's house. They are warriors of the pack, training every day in case of war however what they're doing right now is completely voluntary. I felt proud of them for that as it shows me, I could ask her to trust me and my family, when she comes home.

Creepy? Yes. Extreme? Maybe. Any regret? Not a single fucking ounce. Not when it comes to my angel's safety. She needs to be protected 24/7 and I physically can't do that by myself, unfortunately. When she's with me, it'll be a different case, she'll still have someone watching her but not as many people.

I know if she ever got wind of the fact someone is watching her, she'll never understand the reason. Just the fact that her privacy has been taken away from her. But that will never be the case, I'll make sure of it. No one will ever cross the limits with her and if anyone does, they'll be dealing with me being their worst nightmare. Begging for death will be a commonality and dealing with pain will become a part of their daily miserable existence.

Just the thought of anyone besides me, touching my mate, fills me with rage. I really need to start working on my short temper though, for Michelle.

Normally, Samuel deals with any matters that need violence for example when rogues cross our borders. Last year it was problematic, we kept trying to peacefully resolve the issue of crossing territory with the head of rogues, but he wouldn't listen, so we resorted to violence.

I got in my car and looked back at her house once again, before speeding off. Once I got home, I headed straight for my office not bothering to sleep in my own bed until my mate is there with me.

The rain pounded against the windows as Raphael and Samuel entered my office where I currently was in the dimly lit room. I could feel a fierce determination as I spoke, my words carrying the weight of a promise made in blood.

"Samuel told me you have recruited pack members to keep an eye on Michelle. That's not fair, Cole." Raphael spoke first, clearly pissed off and had every right to be but he needs to know why I did that. Samuel was trying to calm Raphael down, that was evident, but I couldn't tell if he thinks agrees with his mate or not.

I stood up and walked towards them. "I would do anything to keep her happy and safe," I whispered, my voice hoarse with emotion. "I would scale the highest mountain, brave the darkest depths of the ocean, sell my soul to the devil himself if it meant seeing her smile."

The couple standing before me exchanged knowing glances, understanding the depth of my devotion to the woman who held my heart captive. They knew of the darkness that lurked in my past, the shadows that clung to me like a second skin. But they also knew of the lightness I felt whenever I spoke of her, the way my voice softened when her name was on his lips.

"She is my salvation," I continued, my words echoing in the silence of the room. "And I would sacrifice everything to keep her by my side. No matter the cost, no matter the consequences."

Raphael got closer to Samuel, hugging each other because they knew what I was feeling for Michelle and nodded solemnly, their expressions a mixture of admiration and concern. They knew that to love someone so deeply, so fiercely, was to dance on the edge of madness. But they also knew that for me, there was no other path to follow than the one that led to her.

And as the storm began to rage outside, they could only watch in awe as I bared my soul, laying everything on the line for the woman I loved. In a world of shadows and secrets, of blood and betrayal, my love for her burned like a beacon in the darkness, guiding me through the storm with unwavering resolve.

In that moment, I knew that I was in love with not just her physical presence, but also with her voice that spoke to my soul in a way that no one else could. It was a feeling of pure contentment, knowing I had found the one whose voice resonated with my very being.
