"What's wrong with you?!" You yanked your hand away from his grip the moment you both were back in the hallway.
"That man's not to be trusted." Yoongi snapped as he glared at you.
"When did you start caring so much?" You scoffed in disbelief, your voices echoing through the halls, "Actually, when did you ever care about m—"
"Don't think that this is about you Miss Seo. I'm only protecting my family. So do what I say, stop involving yourself with him."
Your husband's expression remained blank, but his tone grew harsher as he moved closer to you, his hand balling into a fist. Your back straightened, refusing to obey his commands.
"Your family huh? Nothing else matters right? Even I don't matter right?" Your lips quivering as you struggled to fight back the tears, "What did I ever do to you?!" You raised your voice, the pain and frustration pouring out.
"We had an agreement. You fulfill your role and I protect my family. What are you arguing for?" He ran his fingers through his hair in annoyance as he looked away, trying to calm down.
"Then what am I doing wrong? Tell me so I know what to do!" You choked out, the question tearing from your throat.
"Why do you hate me so much..?" You whispered, your voice barely audible. You started to feel the tears roll down your cheeks. You tried to maintain eye contact through your blurry visions but the longer you stared, the more you realized the anger and frustration in your husband's eyes were slowly giving away to something else.
You noticed his shoulders slumped slightly as he hesitantly backed away from you.
"Yoongi?"
A familiar voice made you feel a burning sensation in your chest as your focus shifted toward the surprised woman standing by the door. Your husband remained silent, his gaze fixed on Gayeong with a look of uncertainty.
"What's going on?" She rushed over to Yoongi, her eyes widened with concern as she wrapped her arms around his.
You wiped your tears with your sleeves, your movements shaky as you fought to regain composure. You ignored Gayeong's presence, continuing to stare at Yoongi, desperately searching for any sign of emotion or remorse. But what you got in return was the same blank expression.
Gayeong furrowed her eyebrows as she glared at you, her body moving closer to Yoongi until their chests were almost touching.
"What did you do?" She demanded in a hard tone, her eyes reflecting a blend of anger and disbelief. Her stance was resolute, showing that she was not willing to let the matter slide.
Your red, swollen eyes locked onto her, your lips quivering in infuriation. You didn't dare meet your husband's gaze.
"Go to hell." You muttered under your breath, the words escaping in a sharp, strained whisper. With a defiant look, you turned on your heel and began to walk away, your footsteps echoing in the tense silence.
As you moved, you heard Gayeong's sharp intake of breath, followed by a gasp of shock. Her reaction prompted you to pick up your pace, the urgency of your emotions propelling you forward. You hurried through the hallway, determined to escape the scene. As soon as you reach the unused guest bedroom, you fling the door open and stumble inside, slamming it shut behind you. You sank to the floor, tears streaming down your cheeks uncontrollably. You hugged your knees and buried your face into the soft fabric of your dress as you cried your heart out, your tears soaking the material beneath you.
"How long do I have to endure this?"
You slowly shifted your body, moving to lie down sideways on the carpet, the rough texture scraping your delicate skin. You stared at the wall, your breaths coming in uneven gasps as you struggled to calm down.
"What did I do to deserve this?"
