Chapter 12

As soon as Layla got to the backyard, Dillon saw her and walked up to her.

Dillion: Hi, are you lost?

Layla: (smiles) No, I am not. I am here for Spencer James.

Dillon Okay! (looks at her from head to toe) And you are?

Layla: (looks at him in disgust) Will you take me to him, please?

Dillon: (Eyes her) Wait here, I will go bring him.

As Layla waited, she was looking around to see if she could spot Spencer. She finally did and noticed Dillon was talking to him. Spencer walked up to her.

Spencer: (shocked to see her) What are you doing here, Layla?

Layla: The question is, why didn't you invite me here? Plus, that silly boy you are talking to, he is very rude and disrespectful.

Spencer: You mean my younger brother?

Layla: oh! He is your brother. My bad.

Spencer: That aside, what do you want here, Layla? How did you know my place?

Layla: I am where i belong. I am here to party.

Spencer: (sighs) God, please, everybody is having fun and happy. No drama, I beg you.

Mama Grace joins them after noticing both of them go back and forth.

Mama Grace: Is there a problem?

Spencer: (fake smiles) Nothing, ma.

Mama Grace: Okay! Don't keep her standing on her feet. Let her go mingle with the others.

Layla: Thank you ma or do you need me for anything? I can be of help.

Spencer rolls his eyes

Mama Grace: No, you should go and have fun.

Layla and Spencer went to join the others. She finally spotted Olivia, who had seen her earlier, and walked up to her while Spencer joins the boys at the pool table.

Layla: Hey Liv, Kia and Naomi

Olivia: (smiles) Hey.

Layla: I never knew you were also invited to the party. We could have come together. (she smiles).

Olivia: Well, I didn't know you were also invited too. Plus, it was a last-minute thing for me.

Layla: So, what game are you girls playing? (she sits)

Kia: Scrabble.

Layla: Okay, I will go next.

The party was going well. Everyone was enjoying themselves with games, food, and drinks, until the wobble music started playing. Olivia and Kia initiated the wobble dance, prompting everyone else to join in and dance in unison.

After the routine, the DJ switched to regular songs and everyone showcased their unique dance moves. Spencer noticed Olivia and approached her.

Spencer: Hey

Olivia: Hey

Spencer; I intentionally didn't disturb you since noon, cause i wanted you to mingle and have fun. If It was left to me, you won't leave my side.

Olivia: (laughed) I definitely had fun. I have not been this social in a while.

Spencer: Oh yeah! I am glad i helped you. Let's dance.

As the two of them discuss, Layla was looking at them and getting angry. Chris walked up to her.

Chris: Whatever is running through your head right now, please stop. Don't do anything stupid..
