After the intimate dance with Severus, I couldn't shake the feeling of emptiness. Being apart from him hurt more than I expected. The longing gnawed at me, making it impossible to concentrate on anything else. I needed to see him, to feel his presence again.

Unable to bear it any longer, I made my way to his office, hoping he was still awake. My heart pounded as I raised my hand and knocked softly on the door.

To my relief, the door opened, and Severus stood there, looking surprised. He clearly hadn't expected to see me again tonight.

"Is something wrong?" he asked, his voice a mix of concern and confusion.

Without thinking, and before I had a chance to reconsider, I stepped closer and kissed him gently at the doorway. Severus was initially taken aback, his surprise evident. But then, he began to return the kiss, his shock melting into a deep, reciprocal passion.

As our lips parted, he pulled me gently into his office, his hands guiding me with a sense of urgency. He closed the door behind us with a decisive click, ensuring our privacy.

My lips found his again, and we kissed with a renewed intensity. Our breaths mingled and quickened, each kiss more fervent than the last. His hands roamed over my back, pulling me closer as if to make up for all the moments we had missed.

I could feel the heat between us building, becoming almost unbearable. Our kisses were desperate and filled with longing, but as the intensity grew, it became overwhelming. We broke apart, our breaths ragged and faces flushed, the air between us crackling with unspoken emotions.

Severus looked at me, his eyes wide with a mix of confusion and desire. He was at a loss for words, his usual composure shattered. "I... I didn't - ," he managed to say, his voice barely above a whisper.

Tears began to sting my eyes, and I struggled to control my uneven breathing. My heart pounded in my chest as I tried to find the right words, but they seemed to catch in my throat. "I'm so sorry," I said, my voice breaking with raw emotion. "I can't... I can't endure being just friends with you anymore. It's tearing me apart to keep this inside."

I choked back a sob, my hands trembling at my sides. "I know this might come as a shock, and I understand if you don't feel the same way. But I had to be honest with you. It hurts too much to pretend I'm okay with just being your friend when all I want is to be more."

Severus's usual impassive mask faltered as he stepped closer, his eyes locking onto mine with a depth of emotion that he rarely allowed to surface. The coolness in his voice was overshadowed by the raw vulnerability that seeped through his carefully controlled facade. "I..." he started, his voice betraying a tremor that contrasted sharply with his usual composure. "I can't bear being near you without... wanting to be closer. It's... it's excruciating."

His admission was both a confession and a plea, laid bare with a painful honesty that made the room feel smaller, tighter, as if the walls were closing in on the intensity of the moment.

Severus's expression remained guarded, his voice cold but betraying a hint of unease. "I... don't wish to be hurt," he said, his words clipped and awkward, clearly out of sync with his usual composure. "The idea of... entering into something more... it makes me uncomfortable."

He looked away briefly, trying to mask his discomfort. "I'm afraid of what could happen if I let myself... get too close. It's not... it's not something I'm accustomed to discussing." His tone was clipped and impersonal, as if speaking the words pained him. "The prospect of vulnerability, of being exposed... it's not something I can easily accept. I'm simply not willing to risk it."

I took a deep breath, trying to steady my emotions. "Severus," I said softly, my voice steady despite the turmoil inside me, "you don't have to risk anything. You don't need to analyze or overthink it. We don't have to discuss it or make any promises."
