Shattered vows and forgotten oaths lay like broken glass, reflecting the fragments of a love that had been irreparably damaged by the weight of broken promises.

"What do you mean you can't find both of them?" Eleanor's voice boomed in the perimeter of their living room, her fists clenched at her sides as she glared at the three young men before her, her aura darker than the grey clouds outside."We searched everywhere ma'am, we couldn't find them both cellphones were left in the car in the middle of nowhere, even the younger boss's wrist watch was left behind including her necklace," one of them responded with shuddering breath.
"Have you tried tracking them through the CCTVs?" Tristian's father asked calmly but they knew he was anything but calm.
"Yes, we did but there's no footage, it was probably erased and those who were in the room have all vanished without a trace," the same man responded.
"Fuck, whoever did this isn't that simple," Mr. Zwick mumbled under his breath, a string of curses leaving his lips.
// Three months ago// Tristian's gaze was fixed on his ex-wife, his expression a mask of calmness, but his mind racing with memories. The dimly lit room seemed to shrink, leaving only the two of them, suspended in a sea of past regrets.
He remembered the day they met like it was yesterday. She was just 17, he 19, and they were both navigating the treacherous waters of young adulthood in college. Their love had been all-consuming, a whirlwind romance that left them both breathless.
With hearts full of hope and dreams, they had tied the knot in a quiet, unceremonious affair, no fanfare, no wedding bells. Tristian's family had welcomed her with open arms, thinking she would be the anchor to keep him grounded.
But life had other plans.
As he gazed at her now, her hand cradling her swollen belly, Tristian's thoughts drifted to the what-ifs. What if they had been more patient? What if they had communicated better? What if...
The silence between them was oppressive, heavy with unspoken words and unresolved emotions. Tristian's eyes locked onto hers, searching for answers, but finding only a mirror of his own pain and regret.
Tristian's eyes narrowed as Lysanderia's smile grew wider, her gaze sparkling with a mischievous glint. "What do you want?" he asked gruffly, his tone a clear indication that he wasn't interested in playing games.
Lysanderia's response was a sly smile. "What I want is simple, you." Tristian's incredulity was palpable, his eyes widening in disbelief.
"We're both married now. We have nothing in common, and gods forbid I touch a woman like you again," Tristian retorted, his voice laced with disdain.
Lysanderia's laughter was a low, husky sound. "Remember Vic?" she asked, her eyes glinting with a knowing light.
Tristian's body stiffened, his mind racing back to the past. Vic, his first love, the one who had left him heartbroken and confused.
"What about her?" he asked, his tone blank, but Lysanderia detected the hint of curiosity beneath.
Lysanderia's smile grew wider. "She had your child and died. Now, that little star is in my hands. Call me when you decide, sweetheart."
With that, she turned and walked out of the room, leaving Tristian reeling. He was screwed, and he knew it. The secrets, the lies, the hidden truths – all were about to unravel, threatening to destroy everything he held dear.
