Chapter Twenty-Five: "Mel? Shut up."

"OH MY GOD!" Jaemin screamed.

Haechan leapt towards him, covering his mouth. "Shut up! Do you want everyone to hear you?"

Jaemin's first move when he woke up was barge into Mark and Haechan's room to wake the younger up before the others so that he could hear whatever went down between the two lovesick idiots.

He was dying for the tea.

"They sleep like a log," Jaemin rolled his eyes before returning to the topic they were on as Haechan had recounted the previous night's events. "Besides, I was right, wasn't I? Jealousy brings out amazing confessions."

"Yeah, right. Mark had planned to confess regardless. I would have gotten a happier and less emotional confession if it had gone according to his plan."

"Think whatever you want but there's no taking out the emotional part. You'd have cried anyway," Jaemin stated and Haechan could not argue against that. His friend knew him a little too well.

Haechan lay against his bed, sighing. "It doesn't matter. It all worked out either way and I'm happy right now."

Jaemin patted his head. "I'm happy for you, you doofus."

Haechan was practically checking the clock every five minutes. He was desperately waiting for Mark to be back but time was moving way too slowly.

It was late afternoon when Haechan's phone rang. He lazily checked the caller ID but immediately sat up when he saw Mark's contact flashing on the screen. His fingers were quick to click accept. "Hello?"

"Hey," Mark's voice was low and hushed. "How'd you sleep?"

"Good," he replied. "Aren't you at practise?"

He had not expected Mark to call. SuperM's release was coming up the next week and they were all in the final touches of their prep. It was a busy period.

"Yeah, I'm on a break. Thought I'd call you. What have you been up to?"

Haechan shrugged, leaning against his gaming chair. "Not much. Games and I was working on a song I've been writing for the past couple weeks."

"That's nice," Mark commented.

Haechan did not miss the tiredness in Mark's voice. It was one thing to be tired and another to be overworked. Mark was working on a third comeback in a row. It did not help that he would end right when everyone else's break ended and they started working on the full group project.

That was four comebacks in a row for Mark.

Haechan was scared Mark would not be able to hold out. But if anyone could manage it in their group, it was Mark.

"I'm worried about you," Haechan voiced out his concern. "Are you sure you're okay?"

Mark chuckled through the phone. "Princess, give me some credit. I'm not that weak."

Haechan rolled his eyes at his confidence but smiled nevertheless. He had to agree; Mark really was strong, both mentally and physically.

"When are you coming back?"

"My schedule is supposed to end at 8 today but we have had an issue with a part of the choreography," Mark said apologetically. "They're changing it so I would most probably be back late."

Disappointment spread through his chest as Haechan slumped against his chair.

"I'm so sorry, princess."

"Don't apologise, Milk," Haechan said quickly. "You're doing your best. I'll just support you from the sidelines."

The nickname and the genuineness of the statement brought a smile to Mark's face. "And I'm forever grateful for that."
