After an exhausting day at the office, Rohit finally came home and rang the bell. He usually avoided coming home early, but he was missing someone a bit too much.

Rohit sighed as the door opened and he saw Anila with his mother.

Without sparing them a glance, he went inside when they stopped him.

"Arre Rohit, home so soon? Office se bhaagna achi baat nahi hoti beta," Ambalika teased. Rohit rolled his eyes, his gaze still not meeting theirs.

"Hmm, the work was completed quickly," he replied shortly and attempted to move away again, but they prevented him.

"Kaam nahi tha ya kisi ke liye aaye ho daud ke bhai?" Anila asked, and finally, Rohit whipped his head up, completely annoyed by the questioning.

"I told you kaam jaldi ho gaya, so take it like that, okay? You get what you need, no need to interfere in my life more than to ask for the things you both require."

After hearing the praises he received that morning, Virat decided to cook dinner again. He had just turned off the stove when he heard a few voices from the hall.

Curious, Virat went to the hall and smiled widely.

"Rohit!" he called out loudly, not sensing the tension.

Rohit turned around, and his entire demeanor changed completely. He smiled and went towards Virat.

"Aap itni jaldi aa gaye?" Virat asked.

"Haan, ab kisi ke liye aane ka mann karta hai bas," Rohit winked and replied. He chuckled when Virat blushed.

"Rohit!" Virat hissed in a whisper, embarrassed in front of the family. "Everyone is listening na!"

Rohit shook his head fondly and took Virat upstairs.

The ladies, however, observed all this.

"Dekh rahi ho mom, ek din hua hai aur woh badal gaye. Humare saath rude aur apne oh-so-dearest hubby ke liye saccharine-filled voice," Anila commented.

Ambalika, watching the two men make their way upstairs, narrowed her eyes.

"I'll see for how long, beta. The last laugh will be ours."

Rohit left Virat's hand once they were inside the room. He quickly locked the door.

"Aap fresh ho jao jaldi se, okay?"

Rohit came to Virat again and hugged him, burying his head in his shoulder, startling Virat. Virat slowly wrapped his arms around his husband as well.

"Vi, I'm sorry," Rohit spoke after a while. He was enjoying the relief and warmth too much, and was reluctant to break the peace.

"Why Ro?" Virat asked in confusion.

"For uh... what I did today in the morning, uh..the kiss on your cheeks uh.... before I left..."

Virat's cheeks flamed red as earlier moments came to his mind. Virat closed his eyes, unknowingly tightening the hug. However, Rohit took it as a sign that he had made Virat uncomfortable.

"I'm sorry Vi, I know I made you uncomfortable and believe me that wasn't my intention. I just got carried away in the moment and forgot that I should've asked you if you were okay or not, but I swear Virat I—"

Virat pulled himself out of the hug a bit and put his finger on Rohit's lips to stop his rambling. Rohit stared back at him with apologetic, wide eyes.

"Aap kabhi kabhi kitna bolte hain," Virat giggled.
