Two days later, Rohit woke up to find Virat unusually warm beside him. His heart raced as he touched Virat's forehead and realized he had a fever.
"Vi, Vi, wake up," Rohit whispered softly, concern lacing his voice. "You have a fever, baby. Come on, get up, eat something, and then we'll give you some medicine."
But before Virat could respond, he suddenly jerked awake and rushed to the washroom. Startled, Rohit quickly followed, holding his husband's hair back as Virat threw up.
When he was done, Virat collapsed weakly into Rohit's strong, waiting arms, completely drained.
"Ro..." Virat croaked, his voice barely audible. "Dizzy... feel sick," he murmured, clutching his stomach.
"Shh, meri jaan," Rohit soothed him. "Let's get you back to bed."
With gentle care, Rohit scooped Virat into his arms, mindful not to make him more dizzy, and laid him softly on the bed.
A while later, the doctor arrived, checked Virat thoroughly, and diagnosed food poisoning. However, his expression grew more serious when he noticed the bruises on Virat's body.
"Mr. Sharma," the doctor began cautiously, "I noticed several bruises on your husband's body... many of them are fresh." He paused, letting the weight of his observation sink in.
Rohit's eyebrows raised at the implication, but the doctor quickly clarified, "I'm not suggesting you caused them, Sir, of course not. But these bruises need attention. They could get infected, and I'm sure they're causing him pain. I've prescribed an ointment for them, along with medication for the fever, stomach issues, and dizziness. Please take care of him."
Rohit thanked the doctor, then hurried back to Virat's side. His husband was slipping in and out of delirium, murmuring Rohit's name.
"Ro... Ro..." Virat whispered faintly, while Rohit stayed by his side, whispering sweet nothings in his ear, administering his medication with tender care.
Rohit's heart ached as he saw the fresh bruises marring Virat's skin, but he applied the ointment gently, determined to ease his pain.

Hours later, as Virat began to feel better, Rohit insisted on knowing what had happened. With a bit of reluctance, Virat finally shared the truth about what had transpired behind his back. Rohit's eyes darkened with fury, and he felt a storm brewing inside him. He was ready for confrontation, but Virat reassured him that the women wouldn't cause any more trouble after Rohit's previous threat.
Still, Rohit sulked like a big baby, frustrated that he couldn't unleash his anger. Virat chuckled at his husband's pouting lips and leaned in to kiss them softly. Rohit's tough demeanor melted instantly, and soon, the two of them found comfort in each other's embrace, cherishing the quiet, cozy moments as Virat slowly healed.

Things were almost normal for the next few days.
Still, a few weeks later, the atmosphere in the house had returned to its usual unease, with Ambalika and Anila continuing their underhanded efforts to get under Virat's skin. But Virat had been managing, finding small moments of peace with Rohit, who had become more protective and affectionate than ever. Still, the tension was palpable.
One evening, just as Rohit was wrapping up his day at work, his phone buzzed urgently. It was a call from Shyaam Kaka. His voice was shaky, filled with concern.
"Rohit baba, listen carefully," Shyaam Kaka began, speaking in hurried whispers. "The ladies... they've planned something dangerous this time. They've meddled with the gas stove in the kitchen. I overheard them talking. Virat is going to the kitchen soon to prepare dinner, and the servants have been ordered to keep quiet. You need to come quickly, Rohit baba. Something bad is going to happen."
