Iguro pov:

The decision had been made, and the Kamado siblings were spared. Obanai couldn't help but grit his teeth in frustration as he watched the other Hashira disperse.
Obanai's heart pounded with anger. He should have been satisfied, relieved, even though the matter was resolved. But instead, an unsettling disquiet gnawed at him.

He cast a sharp glance toward the Kamado siblings as they left the courtyard. Their presence was a stain on the Demon Slayer Corps.Demons had taken so much from him, and yet here they were, sparing one under the claim that it was different. A demon was a demon, and Obanai believed they deserved nothing less than death. That Tanjiro, a mere boy, had the audacity to defend his demonic sister made Obanai's blood boil. They should have been punished, not pitied.

But what troubled him even more was the memory of Tomioka's actions during the trial. Giyuu had intervened, stopping Obanai from delivering justice, and for what? To defend a demon? Obanai's fingers twitched at the memory, the sensation of Giyuu's firm grip on his arm still lingering.

Obanai quickly shook off the thought, frustrated with himself. "What the hell am I thinking?" he muttered under his breath. His only goal was to protect humanity and kill demons. Anything else was a distraction, and he had no time for distractions. Especially not thoughts about Tomioka.

---
Obanai's thoughts turned foggy as he made his way toward his estate, trying to shake off the irritation that clung to him . The boy and his demon sister should have been dealt with. This decision... it's wrong. The Master is placing too much faith in them, and Giyuu is a fool for supporting it.

But even as he thought this, a flicker of something else crept into his mind-Giyuu's unwavering expression as he defended Tanjiro and Nezuko. There was a conviction in Giyuu's eyes that Obanai couldn't ignore, and it disturbed him deeply. Why was he even thinking about Giyuu in the first place? It didn't matter. Giyuu was just another Hashira, one who kept his distance from the others and made decisions that Obanai couldn't respect.

His only focus should be on his mission n eradicating demons. Anything else, especially thoughts about Giyuu, were a waste of time. Yet despite his best efforts, he couldn't completely banish the image of Giyuu's eyes from his mind.

---
As Obanai reached the corridor that led to his quarters, he was stopped by a familiar, cheerful voice.

"Iguro-san!" Mitsuri Kanroji called out, her bright smile as radiant as ever. She trotted up to him, her green and pink hair swaying with each step. "Are you okay? You seemed really upset during the trial."

Obanai blinked, caught off guard by her concern. He felt a flush of warmth rise to his cheeks, though he quickly tried to gide it. "I'm fine, Kanroji," he replied, his voice coming out a bit softer than usual. "It's nothing."

Mitsuri looked at him with gentle concern, her eyes searching his face. "You know, iguro-san, it's okay to be upset. We're all going through a lot. But, um..." She hesitated, twirling a strand of hair around her finger. "If you're not too busy, would you like to join me for dinner later? I know we're both really focused on our duties, but it might be nice to take a break together."

Obanai's heart skipped a beat. Dinner with Kanronji? He hadn't expected that. A faint blush crept across his face, and he found himself nodding before he could overthink it. "Sure. I... I'd like that."

Mitsuri's face lit up with a bright smile, and Obanai felt a warmth in his chest that he wasn't used to. "Great! I'll see you later, then!" she said, her voice full of excitement.

As she walked away, Obanai couldn't help but let a small smile tug at the corners of his mouth. But then, unbidden, his thoughts drifted back to Giyuu. The smile faded, replaced by a scowl. "What the hell is wrong with me?" he muttered. "Why am I thinking about him again?"

He shook his head, forcing himself to focus. He had dinner plans with Mitsuri now, and that was something to look forward to. Giyuu and whatever strange thoughts he invoked could wait.

---
Later that evening, Obanai found himself at the Serpent Shrine within his estate, trying to focus his thoughts. The shrine, usually a place of solace for him, provided little comfort tonight. His mind was too restless, too tangled with conflicting emotions.

"Focus on your duty," he told himself. "Focus on what's right. Protect humanity, kill demons. That's all that matters."

But as he sat in the flickering candlelight, Giyuu's face drifted into his mind once more, followed by the lingering echo of Mitsuri's warm invitation. Obanai clenched his fists, frustration bubbling up inside him. Why couldn't he shake these thoughts? Why did everything feel so out of control letely?
