I WEEK LATER

The crisp morning air of the Hashira headquarters was filled with a tension that only those familiar with the weight of their duties could understand. Obanai Iguro, having just returned from his previous mission, made his way through the courtyard, his thoughts weighed down by the relentless nature of his work. His eyes flickered to the figure of Mitsuri Kanroji, who stood by the entrance, her usual warm smile a stark contrast to his somber mood.

"Iguro-san!" Kanrojis voice rang out, cheerful and vibrant. "I'm so glad you're back safely. I've missed our talks."

Obanai's lips twitched into a brief smile, though it didn't quite reach his eyes. "Kanroji."

She approached him, her enthusiasm palpable. "Oyakata-sama's has something important to discuss. It seems like there's a new mission on the horizon."

Obanai's gaze hardened slightly. "A new mission?"

Kanroji nodded, her expression turning serious. "Yes. The situation is critical. We're dealing with a series of brutal attacks by demons in a distant region. Ubuyashiki-sama believes that Upper Moon 5 is involved."

---
The Hashira assembled. Ubuyashiki, his presence calm but commanding, addressed them with a grave tone.

"The demon attacks have escalated," Ubuyashiki began, his gaze sweeping over the gathered Hashira. "Upper Moon 5 has been confirmed as the source of this terror. We need to send a team to eliminate this threat."

Obanai's eyes narrowed at the mention of Upper Moon 5. Giyuu Tomioka and Shinobu Kocho were also present, their expressions as serious as his own. Ubuyashiki continued, "Obanai, Giyuu, and Shinobu will be assigned to this mission. Your combined strength will be crucial. Also i wish you the best out there, hoping you're coming back soon, but i want to of the Hashira to go rest afterwards ,so you can continue helping the villagers from the attacks,my children good luck."

Obanai's heart sank slightly. He couldn't shake the lingering frustration from his last encounter with Giyuu, who stood impassive as ever. He knew he had no choice but to accept the assignment, though the idea of working with Giyuu again was far from appealing.

As the Hashira prepared for their journey, Mitsuri and Obanai shared a brief moment alone.

"Be careful out there," Mitsuri said softly, her eyes filled with concern. "I know the mission is dangerous."

Obanai's expression softened slightly. "I will. You should take care as well."

Mitsuri smiled warmly, her eyes lingering on him before she turned to leave. Obanai watched her go, a swirl of emotions battling within him. He shook his head, forcing himself to focus on the task ahead.

Giyuu and Shinobu approached.
Giyuu's gaze met Obanai's briefly, but he said nothing, his demeanor unchanged. Shinobu gave a nod of acknowledgment to both, her demeanor more focused.

----

The group arrived in the affected region, the atmosphere grim and oppressive. The village they first approached was in disarray, the villagers recounting terrifying accounts of demon attacks.

Obanai and Shinobu set off to investigate the nearby forest, their steps deliberate as they searched for clues. Giyuu and Mitsuri took another route, investigating a nearby village known for its recent disappearances.

"Stay alert," Obanai said tersely to Shinobu. "The Upper Moon 5 won't be easy to find."

Shinobu nodded, her eyes scanning the surroundings. "We'll find them. We need to be thorough."

----

The search led them to an ancient shrine deep in the forest. The air grew colder, the shadows lengthening ominously. The Upper Moon 5's presence was palpable, a dark energy that seemed to warp the very environment around them.

Suddenly, the atmosphere shifted, and the Upper Moon 5 revealed itself-a towering figure, its aura radiating malevolence. The demon's eyes glowed with a cruel light, and a twisted smile formed on its lips.

---

The battle between Giyuu and the demon was fierce. Giyuu's Water Breathing techniques flowed seamlessly, each movement precise and lethal. The demon's attacks were relentless, but Giyuu's focus remained unshakable. He moved with a fluid grace, his strikes cutting through the demon's defenses.

-- --Obanai faced the Upper Moon 5 with his Serpent Breathing. His movements were agile, almost serpentine(does such word exist? Idk ,lol), as he dodged and countered the demon's powerful blows. The fight was a grueling test of endurance, each clash echoing through the forest. Despite his frustration with Giyuu and the lingering thoughts about Mitsuri, Obanai's focus was unwavering.

---
The battle reached its climax. The Upper Moon 5 unleashed a final, devastating attack, but the Hashira's combined strength began to wear it down. Giyuu and Shinobu executed a synchronized attack, their techniques complementing each other perfectly.

Obanai, despite his weariness, saw an opening. With a final, decisive strike, he delivered a fatal blow to the Upper Moon 5. The demon's body convulsed before disintegrating into nothingness, leaving only a lingering darkness.

---

With the demon defeated, the forest fell silent once more. The Hashira regrouped, their injuries evident but not life-threatening. The villagers, safe for now, began to emerge from their hiding places.

Shinobu approached Obanai, her face a mixture of relief and concern. "Are you alright Iguro-san?"

Obanai nodded, though his expression remained guarded. "I'm fine."

Giyuu joined them, the tension from earlier battles still hanging in the air. Giyuu gave a curt nod of acknowledgment to Obanai, while Shinobu's gaze remained thoughtful.
