ELSIE RUSHES INTO the hospital wing, spotting remus immediately and speed walks over to him. he takes notice of the multiple bags in her arms and the stressed look on her face. his friends had just left, so he was alone and wanted to see the blonde girl.

"are you okay?" she asks, brushing her hand through his hair and noticing the fresh scar across his nose.

"i'm fine, elsie," remus attempts a smile, groaning while he attempts to sit up, "it's not a big deal."

"what even happened, remus?" elsie gently grabs his arm. helping him sit up.

"it's not important." elsie opens her mouth to say something, but remus stops her as his hand clasps her own, "i don't want to talk about it right now, sunshine. how about you just show me what you got?"

elsie looks at him, wanting to say something, but she hold her tongue, "okay..." she bends down to get the bags, "you'd tell me if something was really wrong, right?"

"of course," remus gulps, guilt washing over him for a second. "now sit with me and show me what you got."

he pulls her onto his hospital bed, placing his head on her shoulder when she gets comfortable and kissing her jaw lightly.

"okay, so logan and elias forced me to tag along with them because lila was on a date and they felt bad for me," remus winces lightly at that, "and logan made us go into every store. like every single store, remus. even the ones she didn't want to go to." remus laughs at the girl's words, laughing with him, elsie continues, "we went to this bookstore and i found a few books we'd talked about or i thought you'd like, so i bought them for you."

she pulls out three books and tells him a little bit about each, "and this one," she shows pulls another out of the bag, emma by jane austen, "is my favorite book. i just wanted you to read it."

"i'll love it," he smiles, "what else did you get?"

"well for myself i got a new sweater, and a few other things, but i also got you some chocolate," she pulls out two boxes and three bars of chocolate for the boy, placing them on his lap. he immediately opens one of the boxes and offers her a piece, she smiles as she takes one, "that's really all."

"thank you so much, elsie," he places a soft kiss to her cheek. "it means a lot to me."

"anything for you, remus," she blushes. the two sit in a comfortable silence, but elsie breaks it, "i almost forgot! i got you this, too," she pulls out a simple silver bracelet, that matches her own, "you always tell me that you like mine, so i got one for you."
