"Your highness!" Hairuan calls while   serving Xi lan the night wine.

Xi Lan smiles at his chief minister leisurely "you look so worried since morning, speak up !"

"Pardon me for my curiosity, but I thought we are here for an alliance against Lu kingdom."

Xi Lan gives out a deep breath "That was the initial plan. But you know my weakness for beauty."

Hairuan holds a worried frown on his face. He is no one to interfere in his highness's personal affairs but they can't risk a fall with the Zi kingdom right now.

There are only three kingdoms in existence that every other kingdoms fears. One is Lan kingdom , their own. 
Second one is Zi kingdom, third is Lu kingdom. 

And there is already an ongoing conflict between Lan and Lu kingdom. Now if the Zi kingdom takes Lu's side then...

"Hairuan !"

Hairuan comes out his thoughts "yes , your highness !!"

"Someone is outside !"

Hairuan looks back at the door. Someone is indeed standing behind the curtain. He hurriedly bows to Xi lan "I will take a look."

Xi Lan looks at the shadow figure talking with his chief minister, with a frown. Who is this possible visitor ? He didn't expect a visitor in the middle of the night !

He raises his head a little as soon as Hairuan walks back in "emperor Zemin's consort San Yi, wants to visit you , right now."

Xi Lan smiles "The main character of our transaction? Let him in !"

Hairuan nods and asks the guards to open the curtain.

Xi Lan looks at the door curiously. He was excepting another beautiful face for whom an emperor decided to give away hundred maids. But he gets to see a face half covered in a white satin veil.

Xi Lan stands up with more curiosity "Consort San Yi !"

San Yi bows at Xi Lan as he sees him for the first time. He has feared this man for almost half of his life and now he is here to ....

"Can I talk with emperor Xi Lan alone ?"

"What if consort San Yi stabs me with the advantage of us being alone ?" Xi Lan teases.

"I don't think I can stab emperor Xi Lan even if I want to. My strength is nothing when compared to lan emperor. Why mock me ?"

Xi Lan laughs out loud but signs his chief minister Hairuan to leave the room.

San Yi waits until Hairuan's back disappears before walking in front of Xi Lan. "Can I have a seat ?"

Xi Lan raises his hand to show the chair "this is your palace. You don't need my permission."

San Yi nods and sits in front of Xi lan "I want to talk about your offer !"

"What ?"

Why did you ask for Xingchen in exchange of my sister ?"

Xi Lan smiles "Because he would look good in my palace."

"He would never be loyal to you. He loves Zi kingdom and he loves emperor Zemin."

Xi Lan looks at SanYi with a smug face "what's exactly your motive , consort San Yi ? Shouldn't you be happy that I am taking your one competitor away ?"

San Yi takes in a deep breath "My only motive is to get my sister back and I know for sure that emperor Zemin wouldn't give you Xingchen because Xingchen is not my competitor, I have no place in front of Xingchen."

Xi Lan leans back comfortably on the sofa "So consort San Yi is here to tell me that I can't get Xingchen from Zemin yet I have to give the maid back. Then, he must have thought of a counter offer. What is it ?"

"That depends on why emperor Xi lan wants Xingchen in the first place ? If it's just to look down on Zi, then I am the consort of Zi kingdom and have a better position in Zi harem than Xingchen."

Xi Lan chuckles almost in disbelief "Don't tell me you are here to offer yourself ?"

San Yi looks directly into Xi Lan's eyes. "I am !"

Xi Lan sits up with interest "Your husband is turning all the tables to save your sister, and you are here to betray your husband ?"

"I am here to save my sister!"

Xi Lan tilts his head "If I take you instead of Xingchen.. What position do you think I will take you in ?"

"I don't care about positions."

"How about a slave ?"

San Yi breaks the eye contact that he was holding till now "then slave it is."

Xi Lan laughs out loud. He heard so many dramatic things about Zi harem but he never thought.. he would encounter those himself "serve me wine ..."

San Yi looks at Xi Lan again "huh ?'

"You want to be a slave .. show if you can be one ... Serve me." Xi Lan twirls the empty wine glass in his hand.

San Yi stands up with a nod and picks up the alcohol.

Xi Lan looks at the slim body leaning close to him to pour the wine. He pulls the body by the waist.

San Yi yelps.

Xi Lan looks at the shocked Consort in his arm "Serving as a slave includes so many things, conosrt SanYi. Are you aware of that ?"

SanYi tries to make a distance from the uncomfortable closeness "I know. You .. give me back my sister. I will keep my promise."

Xi Lan makes a distance finally. "Remove the veil. I don't trust someone without a face."

SanYi's body stiffs. He can't remove the veil. If emperor Xi lan sees the scars of his both cheeks, he wouldn't even look at his face second time. Taking him as a slave is out of the question.. emperor Xi Lan has a thing for beauty.

Yes , he is here to fool emperor Xi Lan. He knows it's not easy but he has no other way. This is his only chance. What's the meaning of corporating with fake Afreen for so long , if he can't play this simple trick.

"Emperor Xi Lan already has my sister in his captive. Why would I even try to betray him ?" 

Xi Lan chuckles "A slave should always follow his master's order without any question."

San Yi stands up from the sofa just to keep a safe distance, then he bows "I am not Emperor Xi Lan's slave yet. I am still a Zi emperor's consort. If emperor wants to me to follow his order, he should make me his slave first."

Hairuan was waiting outside when consort San Yi leaves the room in a hurry. He hurriedly walks in to report. "Your highness !"

Xi Lan who was smiling alone in the room looks up "We got a solution for your worry Hairuan."

"Pardon me your highness but I didn't understand.."

Xi Lan yawns lazily. "Xingchen would look good in my harem. But asking him would create a contention between Lan and Zi.

Hairuan nods hurriedly "yes, your highness."

Hairuan was about to breath a sigh of relief when Xi lan adds "Consort San Yi smells so good. I wonder .. how beautiful he looks inside that veil."

Hairuan's breath hitched. "Your highness?"
