Rebuilt Love

Part 38

 Me, Luca, Gio, Ella and Alessia's parents are crowed in this small room, I'm sitting on the floor next to Ella, Gio is sitting on the edge of bed next to Alessia's feet and Luca, Mario and Carol are sitting on the chairs. We are all in our own little conversation, I think we are all secretly thinking if Alessia hear's all of us talking she will wake up. 

" kids, why don't you all go and get some actual rest" Carol speaks up 

" you want us to go?" Gio asked 

" no, of course not, I just want you guys to look after yourselves. Go home, have a shower and some actual food and sleep and come back well rested" she says. 

" I, uh, I never actually booked a hotel. I just jumped of the first train possible" Ella confesses 

" I didn't either" Gio chuckles 

" what why, Gio" Carol asked 

" I got a call saying my sister is in hospital, my first thought wasn't a place to stay" he says.

" uh, you can stay at Alessia's and Ella can stay at mine" I shrug 

" do you have a key?" Gio asked. 

" Alessia's keys are there in that little safe" Mario says 

" has anyone gone to Alessia's house since.. Y'know?" Luca asked and we all just nod no 

" I can drop Gio there and we can check it out" I say and they all nod. 

Me, Luca, Gio and Ella get our stuff ready and we leave. 

" please ring us if anything changes" Gio says to Carol as he hugs her. 

" I promise, sweety" she says and we all leave. 

I drive Gio to Alessia's house and we all get out of the car and I can tell everyone is feeling a bit anxious. We walk to the door and Gio opens it and we walk through and straight away you can tell something has happened. There's photo frames on the fall, plant pots knocked over and things are just a mess.  Without saying a world we just start tidying up. 

As I am picking things up off the floor I come across a broken photo frame, I look at the picture and it's a picture of me on Alessia's back and she's giving me a piggyback, we are both laughing. It's when we meet a few of the Arsenal ladies at Hyde park and we did some races at challenges and this was when we did the piggyback race. I look at the picture and a tear slides down my cheek.

" she never stopped loving you, you know" Ella says as she looks at the picture. 

"I never stopped loving her either" I sniff 

" when she wakes up, you both and finally be happy" she smiles  

" yeah" I smile. 

We continue to clean up and then we leave Gio and I drive myself and Ella back to mine.  

Me and Ella waste no time in changing and settling down for the night, Ella curls up on the sofa declining the offer of my bed and then I head to bed and in the first time in two days I get some actual sleep.     

I wake up and the first thing I do is check my phone, no messages or missed calls. I guess no news is good news right. I get out of bed and have a shower and then I get dressed. I walk to the kitchen and as I do I pop my head into the livingroom and see that Ella is still asleep. I boil the kettle and as I wait I get a fresh towel out for Ella just in case she wants a shower when she wakes up. I make myself a coffee, I remember Alessia telling me one time that Ella doesn't like coffee so I make her a tea instead. 

I'm on my laptop going through some blueprints and signing them off, April obviously signed me off work but I guess I'm doing it to keep myself distracted. I sign a few off and then I hear movement coming from the livingroom. 

" hey" she says still half asleep. 

" hey, did you sleep well?" I ask looking up from my laptop.  

" I did" she smiles and sits at the table with me. 

" I made you a tea but it's probably cold" I chuckle lightly. Ella takes the mug 

" no, it's still good" she smiles and starts drinking it. 

As Ella showers I make us some breakfast, we eat and then we head back to the hospital. 

We walk into the room and everyone is here, we just talk and then the doctor comes in. 

" hello, everyone" he smiles brightly at us and we all just look at him. 

" I have the results from Alessia's head scans here" he says show us a pile of papers.

" so we did some scans and I am quite happy with how Alessia is recovering, there are some signs of damage to the brain but I thinks that's excepted  considering what she has been through. Alessia has also responded well to the medications and food and water we have pumped into her also and she is mainly breathing by herself. So, with all this being said I think it's time we take her off the machines and see how she does" he smiles and I think everyone sighs in relief. 

The doctor nods to his other doctors and they start removing all off the wires and tube from her mouth. Once they are all removed the doctor listen to Alessia's chest for a couple of minutes and inside I am panicked and scared but watching the doctors being so calm and relaxed, help me relax. 

" breathings stable" one of the doctors says.

" what's next?" Mario asked 

" we wait for Alessia to wake up," he says simply. They do some more checks and then leaves. 

It's been a hours since Alessia has been taken off everything but she still hasn't woken up. Everyone is asleep but I can't sleep I've just sat there watching Alessia, waiting for her to wake up as I don't want her to be alone when she finally wakes. 

I lean over and hold her hands and I place a soft kiss on her knuckles. 

" Less, I need you to wake up. Please wake up Less. Less I will make you a deal if you wake up, I will eat all of my vegetables, so you don't have to moan at me " eat your veg, you child". Apart from carrots, I still think they are gross and taste like mud and earth" I say with a chuckle and continue. 

" I will quite vaping because I know how much you hate it, I will even buy you that Dyson dryer you have been banging on about, I don't know where we will put it but if you wake up, I will buy it for you. I will stop leaving my tools by the door so you will stop tripping over them" I chuckle. 

" all jokes aside Alessia, I need you to wake up because I love you and I can't do live without you, I tried and I ended up drinking myself silly because I couldn't do life without you, we can't do life without you, your mum, your dad, your brothers, Ella, your team mates your fans, we all love you and need you. I promise that when you wake up we can have that fresh start you asked for and I promise never to leave your side again and then one day we can start that family you talked about, we can go off and get married, where every you want. But Less you have to wake up first. Please Less, I can't lose you again. Please wake up" I say and I start sobbing and I rest my forehead on her knuckles and as I do I feel the slightest, gentlest squeeze on my hand. 

" Less?" I say and look up.
