"-ability was my ability to utilize destruction energy-"
"-Your mana core that we made? Use the destruction energy there and settle it over each part of your body, down to the very-"
"-This information is pretty compacted, but remember each part. I wish I could tell you more, but I am about to die one way or another. Don't burry my body, it will only put them on your track. Just get the fuck out of here once I am done-"
Mernir awoke from his sleep with a gasp, heaving for air. Breathing heavily, Mernir took in deep breaths to calm himself down, before raising two fingers to his cheek and pinching himself. He hissed as he realized that he used way too much force, more then he used to have.
"Definitely not a dream then..." he muttered, looking down at the grass. He closed his eyes and looked inside himself, and he gasped as he buckled to the ground in pain. He held his hands over his abdomen, but smiled despite of the pain as he realized what he saw - a mana core, although... different?
What he saw before bucking over in pain was quite weird. It was a mana core, that was for sure, but instead of being the black it was supposed to be, it was a very dark purple, and was spread out all over his body, although in miniscule amounts compared to how much was in the center of his abdomen. He knew that wasn't normal, but perhaps some of the information left over by Kryol would help.
He didn't forget his quest, though. Now that he had a secondary goal, along with finding Dytirn, he would have to adjust his plans to fit in what Kryol wanted him to do. The glaring issue, though, was that Mernir still has no idea what Kryol's mission even was. All he knew was that it was incredibly important for Kryol, and that he would know what it was as he grew stronger.
Well, that gave him a short-term goal - getting stronger was something he was already planning to do. But now he would have to move camp sooner or later, preferably after he finished assimilating with the destruction energy that was passed on to him.
Mernir sat down in a lotus position and began to meditate. He knew he could see the dark purple energy inside his body if he tried hard enough, so that was step one for him. He took a deep breath and remembered Kryol's words;
"Use the destruction energy there and settle it over each part of your body, down to the very molecules. It will be painful, but you need it to survive. In the end, maybe a few months, it will mix with the materialization form you have going."
...A few months might take a while - but not like Mernir had anything better to do, or anything else that will advance him towards his goals like this would. He pushed past the searing pain and started moving the energy inside him slowly, almost as if fusing his body with it. The parts that fused became as bright as the mana core in his body, and he could feel the pureness emitting from them.
Even then, though, the process was extremely slow. He sighed as he continued the process, huffing.

"Get on with it, will ya?!" I yelled at my workers as they rounded up the newest batch of slaves. Taking a quick puff of my cigarette, I smirked at them, all of my teeth showing. Most flinched and looked down, but some stared into my eye as if they were brave. Inwardly, I grinned. Disciplining the newest slaves we captured was always my favorite part of the job, and it seems the captured elfs are much more disobedient then most of my captures.
I got up from where I was sitting, a box of some food for my men, and got in the face of one of the elves. I took my cigarette out of my mouth and let the smoke out in their face. This fuckers only learn through punishments, and I will gladly deliver them. The elf frowned, then before I could react, spit on my face.
