Another Way Out. Regulus x reader

Laying in my bed I couldn't help thinking about the key I had found.

I reached my hand into my shirt and grabbed the chain I put the key on to pull it out.

The rust on the key made it obvious that it had been there for a while, so it had to be an old key but why was it put there. And what did it open.

The questions kept swirling around in my mind before they were interrupted by the sound of tapping on my window. I drop the key onto my chest and turn to look at the window.

at the window tapping on the glass was an owl that I didn't recognize.

I got up to open the window and let the owl in, he was carrying an envelope with my name on it.

"Thank you" I said to him as I took the envelope from his claws. The moment his talons were empty he took off out the window and headed for the owl sanctuary.

I turn over the envelop and see my name written on it but no sign of who wrote it so I tear it open and begin reading the note.

Meet me in the library so we can hang out.

BTW GRACO WILL BE THERE.

A smile spreads across my face. It's nice getting to hang out with my friends and since Del is in a different house I don't get to hang out with her often.

I ran over to my bed and grabbed by book bag before running out of my room and to the library.

"Wow so you lived with them the whole summer" Del replies in shock after I told her my living arrangements over the summer.

"yeah and it was so much fun, I learned so much about how muggle businesses are run. I mean I may have lived like a muggle my whole life but I still got to learn more" I giggled.

"and the best part is that I spent all that time with cats, they were so cute." I added.

"wow, who knew muggles could be so much fun" Del laughs with me.

I look over to Graco who has been quiet the entire time. He seemed different. Very reserved and quiet, I kept trying to tell myself that it was nothing but honestly I couldn't shake this odd feeling that something is wrong.

"So, how have things been for you Del" I ask, leaning in to make sure she knows I am listening.

She takes a moment before she answers " Ive been fine, I mean as fine as I can be. Do you know what happened a few weeks ago?" She whispered.

"uh, since I don't know what you're talking about Im guessing I don't" I whisper back.  What happened that I don't know about?

" Graco has a younger sister.  she was going to come to school this year but she..." Del choked. I look at her with a questioning look.

"She was killed" she said earning a quiet gasp from me.

"how" I ask.

"the killing curse.  We don't know who did it but Graco hasn't been doing very well ever since. " sh says looking over at her boyfriend with concern.

"oh my god im so sorry, how come I haven't heard about this?" I question. The fact that the daily profit hasn't done a story about this is crazy. this is big news and normally would have been front page material.

"Im not sure. its really strange," she mumbles.

I look at her and then graco. What on earth is going on.
