The witching hour at Hogwarts has always made me slightly uncomfortable. Not because im afraid of demons or ghosts, I mean I have grown up with ghosts. I get uncomfortable because of how quiet it is.
As I walk through the halls the only sounds I can hear is the sound of my bare feet padding on the stone floor, and my breath.
When I can't sleep I go for walks, usually outside but after almost dying multiple times on outdoor walks I have decided to keep witching hour walks indoors.
Looking around I see the paintings of witches and wizards from years ago, who they are Im not sure but they are all asleep at this time of night.
I don't usually walk through these corridors but something made me want to try something new.
minutes of walking go by before suddenly I think I hear a whisper, I look around but see nobody there. weird.
I stay put and look around, I have never seen this hallway before. The walls are stone like the rest of the school but the floors are made of wood. There is only one door in the corridor and it has an unusual frame.
A wooden frame that is carved to look like the arch is made of stacked books. the door has carvings of people, each holding a book. and behind each person is an older version of themselves.
I take a few steps towards the door. As I approach the door I feel a burning sensation on my chest.
I reach for the door knob and try to turn it before discovering it is locked.
The key.
I reach my hand into my night shirt and pull out the key hanging around my neck.
I insert it into the keyhole and hear a click followed by the creaking of the door opening.
Stepping into the dark room I am greeted by the smell of old books and dust. My eyes begin adjusting to the darkness of the room and once I can make out what I am seeing I gasp.
A library full of books, thousands of books. and in the center of the room is a big book on a table. I approach the big book and realize it is a catalog. thousands of names written in the catalog.
I flip through the pages but stop when I see a familiar name. Remus Lupin. I squint my eyes, not believing what I just read.
He wrote a book?
Next to his name it says L198. What does that mean?
I look at each bookcase and see they are categorized by letter, each floor being the first number in the sequence and the last numbers are the books place in the bookshelf.
I search for L198 and find a small book next to a bunch of big ones. It has a red leather cover and golden letters that say Remus Lupin.
I pull the book from the shelf and sit down, leaning against the shelf.
"lumos" I mutter, using my wand as a reading light.
I open to the first page and begin to read.
Dearest reader,
What you are about to read is a sequence of events that should not be altered under any circumstances. If you do decide to make any changes you will be met with unfortunate consequences. You have been warned so any unfortunate reprocusions are your doing not the LLDI.
LLDI?
I turn the page and begin reading. The story begins with the birth of Remus and slowly tells his entire life story. at a certain point I see my name in the book followed by Y534. As I continue to read I begin to get this very uncomfortable feeling.
