It was time for Michael to go.

His balaclava mask was in his hand as he held Jennifer's with his free one.

"I'll be back in the morning, love, okay?"

She nodded, sniffling.

"P-Promise you'll be s-safe?"

He nodded.

"Yes, kitten. I promise. You'll stay here and protect the teddies."

She nodded again, hugging him tight before walking into the living room.

"I'm sorry," I mumbled, looking away from him.

"You should be, for not letting me kill Lev ages ago," Michael replied.

I sighed.

"Don't forget, he has a family too, and he'd do anything to protect them."

Michael clenched his jaw.

"Seriously, Azrael? It's all his fault. Who knows what that sick bastard is doing to her right now?"

I nodded.

"I know you're right, but killing him won't change anything. I'll never forgive him, and he'll face the consequences of what he did, but I'm not killing him for Sofia's sake."

That girl loves her daddy so much she even stepped on my foot when she thought I hit him when I was joking with him.

And let me tell you, that hurt like a bitch.

Michael put on his mask.

"I'll call you when I'm done." With that, he left.

Luca was my only hope now.

I walked to the living room and sat beside Jennifer on the couch.

Leo was in his room, while Mikhail had to make some phone calls.

Lev and Joe went to her father's coffee shop to see if he knew anything about Aldo.

Jennifer's gaze was fixed on the television when she spoke.

"You k-know, Micky p-promised me he wouldn't go on m-missions anymore..."

I didn't answer, and she continued.

"I'm s-scared I'm g-going to l-lose him. You un-understand what I'm f-feeling, right?"

I nodded.

Yes, I fucking understand, and I couldn't bear the thought of it.

"I h-hope you find R-Rosa soon. I r-really miss her."

Me too, Jennifer. Me fucking too.

"M-Michael t-told me Lev b-betrayed you. I k-know you can't forgive him, like I c-can't forgive my m-mama either."

"This is different. Your mom left for her own benefits"

She pouted.

"You're right."

I leaned my head back on the couch.

This was going to be a long fucking night.

𐮜Lev𐮜

Nothing.

Joe and I tried every way to get some information about Aldo, but nothing worked.

Joe hasn't spoken to me since I told Azrael what I did.
