Rosie

Jennifer, Michael, and Mikhail left for L.A. today, leaving me, Azrael, Leo, and Mr. Joe behind because Mr. Joe is still in the hospital.

Leo told me he got hurt when they came to save me. I wanted to visit him, but I still haven't healed yet, so I can't get out of bed.

The only person I had talk to was Jennifer, and she didn't tell anyone about me talking.

I'm grateful for that.

It's been three days since I kicked Azrael out of the room, and he hasn't come back since.

I sighed.

Maybe I should hear him out, but what if he hurts me again?

A knock on the door pulled me from my thoughts as Leo walked in, holding a tray of food.

It was dinner time.

He placed it on my lap, and I started to eat.

"Azrael non ha dormito da quando l'hai cacciato fuori" (Azrael hasn't slept since you kicked him out), Leo said.

I shrugged, and he chuckled.

"Stop acting like you don't care," he teased.

I glared at him, but he continued. "Even Loli and Lilo are sad."

No my babies.

"Want me to bring them to you?"

I nodded, finishing the last bite of my sandwich.

I handed him the tray, and he got up, leaving the room.

A few long minutes passed, and I was waiting for Leo to come back in, but instead, Azrael entered, holding my bunnies.

He had dark circles under his eyes, his hair was longer, and he'd gotten skinnier.

I gulped and looked away.

"Can I sit?" he asked in a low voice.

I didn't respond, only looking away. He just nodded and turned to leave.

No, I didn't want him to leave.

I let out a soft hum.

He stopped and looked at me. I nodded. The corner of his lips lifted slightly, and he gently sat on the edge of the bed.

"Listen, Rosie," he began, taking a deep breath.

"I never meant to hurt you, Aldo—"

"Shh," I cut him off.

I didn't want to talk about this right now.

He looked tired.

I pointed at the pillow on the sofa, and he grabbed it, handing it to me.

I patted the empty space beside me, and he immediately lay down.

I took Lilo from him, leaving Loli with him, and put the pillow between us.

I switched off the small lamp on the nightstand and lay back on the bed.

I felt him shift.

"Can I hold your hand?" he whispered.

I sighed and turned my back to him.

He mumbled a soft, "Okay."

I'm sorry, angel.

I closed my eyes, and after a few minutes of tossing and turning, I fell asleep.
