Later that night Y/N sat outside her dorm the cool breeze gently brushing against her skin as she scribbled in her daily diary.

After finishing writing her diary she flipped back through the pages she paused when she found a dried rose pressed between them.

She carefully lifted it her fingertips grazing the delicate petals and she clearly remembered it was the first rose that bloomed in her garden.

A bittersweet smile tugged at her lips as she gazed up at the sky her eyes glistening with unshed tears.

"Mom! Dad…!! I hope you’re doing well up there" she whispered softly her voice laced with longing. "I miss you both so much."

A single tear escaped trailing down her cheek as she clutched the rose closer to her chest feeling the weight of her loneliness and bittersweet memories of her parents.

Iseul who had been searching for her stopped when she spotted her gazing up at the sky. She knew exactly what was going through her mind her silent conversations with her parents.

After watching her for a moment she approached softly careful not to startle her.

"Y/N what are you doing out here? It’s late and you’re not in bed yet" she said gently her voice warm with concern.

She quickly wiped her tear forcing a smile as she looked at her. "Unnie.. I was just finishing my diary. I’ll go to sleep in about 15 more minutes."

But Iseul shook her head, her expression a mix of fondness and gentle scolding. "Nope.. you’re not going to sleep just yet because You’re coming with me to the canteen. We need to get some water since the tap’s not working and we’ve run out of bottled water in the fridge."

She sighed a playful pout forming on her lips. "Unnie.. can’t we just sleep? It’s so late…"

But she wouldn’t have it, playfully nudging her shoulder. "No way.. Y/n. You’re the one who drank most of the water so you’re coming with me."

She nodded knowing she could never refuse Iseul’s words especially when she spoke with such a mix of authority and care.

"Okay..!! fine let’s go" she agreed, reluctantly but affectionately. She carefully placed the diary back in her room locking up the dorm before joining Iseul.

As they walked side by side toward the canteen she glanced back at the sky once more feeling the quiet presence of her parents watching over her.

Upon reaching the canteen they filled their glass jug, ready to head back when they noticed a small flicker of light from the backside of the canteen.

The area was almost completely dark but the faint glow of a few flickering candles caught their attention.

Iseul immediately felt a chill run down her spine. She nudged her gently her voice shaky, "Y/N look… over there."
