Chapter 18

‖ T H I R D  P E R S O N ‖

Valencia was still feeling confused. It had been almost a week of the brothers acting nice to her.

By the second week of them acting nice to her, she had actually started believing, not knowing she shouldn't have.

*Matteo was walking upstairs when he heard Valencia's and Alexander's voices in the kitchen so he decided to eavesdrop.

"What happened yesterday? I asked Domenico but he said you asked him not to tell anyone" said Alexander. 

Matteo was puzzled, he hadn't notices Valencia leaving earlier.

"It's nothing important, just something I'm allergic to and accidentally ate it so I had a reaction."

Matteo thought about her words. If only he could somehow figure out what she was allergic to. That way they'd be able to use it to their advantage and maybe get her to leave them alone or better yet, leave forever.

He had missed most of the conversation, thinking about what they had already said but when he heard Alexander asking what she was allergic to, he snapped right back.

"So why is there nothing about your allergy or allergies perhaps? And what are you allergic to?"

"I'm allergic to eggs and I-" Matteo didn't wait around for her to finish the sentence. He went straight up to his brother's room and told him about what he had heard.

"I just found out something that might help us getting rid of Valencia"*

All they had been doing these past two weeks were prepare for the big "prank".

They didn't know exactly how severe her allergy to eggs were but they just had to try.

"We need to do this when Alexander is not here" Valentino said.

"You think I don't know that? Luckily for us, he's going on a business trip in three days."

"I think we need to have Domenico here. What if the allergy is really severe. If it is, she could die and I don't want her blood on my hands" Matteo said.

The brothers agreed. They hadn't told anyone about their 'little' plan since they knew everyone would be against the idea.

Their zio Lorenzo had already formed a bond with her and losing her would feel like losing his twin brother for the second time. It was something he could not handle.

Same with their zia Angelina. Vincenzo was the closest to her which was why she wouldn't be able to handle losing Valencia. Valencia just looked so much like her father.

"But like, how would this work? We just feed her eggs but how would that get her to leave?" Cassio asked. He was the one that didn't want this as much as the other. He was beginning to see Valencia as a sister which was something he didn't like, especially when his brothers were ready to risk killing her if it meant they would get their old life back.

"She could run away?" Matteo said questioningly.

They hadn't thought everything through.

"Guess so. I mean she could go live with zio Lorenzo. He is already starting to love her so I think he'd take her in with open arms" Valentino suggested.

"They'll all hate us" Cassio commented.

"They'll get over it and one day realize the favour we did them all by doing this."
