29. Pretty Girl

I completely messed up a plotpoint nothing important so it doesn't matter but I did hit myself for that, apologies my lieges. No i will not say what it is.

"Yuji? Whatcha doing?" You questioned. He practically had his nose pressed against the window, watching outside.

"Mama cat is missing two of them." He sighed.

"They are getting old enough to wander...you have homes lined up right? It might be a little early normally, but better than getting themselves into trouble." You shrugged.

"I'll let everyone know." He nodded. "Do you think they'll come back?"

"My free period is next, I'll go look alright?" You attempted to ease his worries just as the bell rang.

"Okay, thanks Y/n!" He kissed your cheek before running off.

"Where are your babies mama?" The cat purred as you rubbed a finger on her head. A grey and black one were missing, while the other three were curled around their mom. You checked around the school and fence line to find no sign, then checking the storage sheds. At that point worry began edging your mind. Had they gone too far or had someone taken them? Unless they had climbed the fence the only other exit was the parking lot. Which led to you on your hands and knees, checking around and under every vehicle. Finally, when you had almost reached the end, you spotted two blobs. The grey on squished into the
rim, and the black on sitting on top of the tire. Grabbing both of them with protests, you puffed out your cheeks. "It would have been really bad if you two stayed there."

As the bell rang again, you jogged toward the box. Yuji had texted he would gather the adopters up, so you wanted to make them all a little more presentable. Waiting for the ring again, therefore empty halls, you placed them all in their box and snuck into the teachers lunch room and went to their bathroom. Running back to the kitchen area you took a bottle of dawn, returning and locking the door.

You placed your hands on your hips, watching them try and climb out of the box, "Alright, lets do this kitties."

It was, of course, a difficult task to bathe five kittens and a wild mama cat. Some took it better than others, and if the scratches on your arms said anything, some didn't take it well at all. But, they were clean and flealess now, ready for their new homes. Most of them were at a good and healthy weight, though one of the black ones had a gunky eye and was a bit skinner. You held him to your chest, away from the rest and decided to check sexes. The grey was a girl, which Nobara had claimed. Both of the black ones were girls, while the other two were boys.
You cursed as the bell rang, thankfully spotting an exit in the main room.

You sat outside with them until Yuji and two others appeared. "This is Sasaki and Iguchi! They're both friends."

"Nice to meet you." You smiled, "Yuji and I can be relieved that they're going to good homes."

Yuji handed Sasaki the black and white, while Iguchi got the grey and white. "If you need anything just let me know! And I'd still like pictures if you don't mind..." He rubbed the back of his neck in embarrassment.

"Of course!" They both nodded.

"So who's getting the other three?" You questioned.

"Nobara, Maki, and Megumi." Yuji replied, scratching the mamas head. "But the mom..."

Before you could say anything Megumi strolled up, the two girls behind. Nobara cooed at hers while Maki cradled the other black one similar to yourself. You were slightly happy it looked like Megumi was stuck with goopy eyes, since he was probably best suited for it. "I think she'll need a little extra care." You held her head to show the crusties.
