"Why did you and Ruhi break up?" Arranya's voice was as soft-spoken as a child learning to speak.

Aviral took a good glance at her innocent face on his left. He couldn't dodge her question right now at all. He had nothing to hide but he feared about her mental state before telling her about his life.

But another glance at her face, her eyes that shone under the moonlight as they were slowly swelling up after so much crying, he decided to open the pages he never really told anyone before.

"Avi, I can't do this anymore, I'm done," Ruhi spoke on the other side over the phone, breaking Aviral's heart.

He couldn't decipher why she called him out of the blue at this late night hour and announced such a dreadful statement even after knowing what his condition was.

His father had met with an accident, Avi is in hospital, trying to overcome the situation and handle his family, his mom, his elder sister and his cousin sister Siya, who were crying miserably in the hospital's gallery in front of the OT room where his father was being operated.

"Ru- Rooh, see I'm not in the condition right now to talk about these things... Please give me some time, my father is admitted right now so I'll talk to you later, okay? I love you, I hope you understand," with that said, the lad hung up and fell down on the floor weeping silently to himself.

Ruhi visited him the next day in hospital and he cried a lot in her embrace as his father's condition was critical like the doctors told them last night.

"Shhh, he'll be fine, look at me, Avi,"

She lifted up his face by keeping her hands on his cheeks.

"I'm here, it's okay," Ruhi comforted Avi and both of them calmed down as she took him to a nearby cafeteria to eat something as he's been hungry for the last 2 days staying in the hospital and taking care of everything.

"Eat," she scolded the lad when he refused to gulp down the food.

After loads of struggles she could get him to eat only half a plate of his meal and took him out for a short walk in fresh air at the rooftop of the hospital so he wouldn't be too worried. Although their guards were outside his father's ward, he still didn't budge from staying back at the hospital.

The couple walked hands in hands as they slowly enjoyed the wind of monsoon in silence. Ruhi held his hand with both of her hands to reassure him that she's there for him making him comfortable but he unwillingly reminisced about last night when she called him.

"Rooh, what were you saying about breaking up yesterday?"

"No, leave that, I was just being stupid,"

Hearing that, Avi stopped in his tracks as Ruhi whirled back to look at his neutral face asking him what's wrong.

"Did...did you talk about the breakup because you're scared that my mom will send me to the USA...I'll reside there forever after going there once and...you'll have to get married to that guy for your family business so you just want to make it up with him in advance if I go?"

Avi questioned with an upset heart that was hoping that she'll deny to what he just said but to his misfortune, all his hopes were broken soon when Ruhi's eyes glistened up with tears as she tightened her fingers around his fingers.

Avi lost an exhale at her reaction as he freed his hand from her hold.

"Don't..." He warned as he noticed her walking up to him as tears eventually rolled out of her eyes.
