She was met with no one, the door to her room sliding closed on its own and leaving Doll to the practically empty of worker drones room. Asides her mother who was asleep for once as she laid out flat on the couch, Doll had many thoughts about the couch but none of them she had the particular need to vocalise. Instead she moved for the kitchen, her hands swiftly raiding the highest cupboard for a battery snack only to discover they were out. The last one having been pilfered by Uzi according to the note that she only just noticed on the kitchen bench, a small well written apology penned onto a sticky note that had been hastily slapped onto the desk and was thus, half unstuck and folded oddly. Doll frowned at the paper, a faux attempt at making it materialize more of the snacks. While she was glad they had all apparently left the premises and returned to her the freedom of slight travel, Doll still would of rather they had not raided her supply of snacks and left her with even less to do.
That revelation that her search for something to occupy herself had come to a swift end was not the best of news to Doll, the girl now checking the rest of the cupboards for anything and only finding a notepad, a ton of bowls and plates of which she left completely alone. A pair of thermostats had been in one of the cupboards, Doll didn't even bother with the draws because she knew they were still full of human culinary devices that still had not been removed. Sometimes they ended up getting washed, or well, Doll never saw them dirty but then again she wasn't looking at them that often. She looked up after ducking her head to check the last of the cupboards, her eyes trailing around the room. Taking in the small duo of bookshelves near the dinning table as well as the door into her parents bedroom and its neighbour door, which lead into the oft unused games room. Basketball was only fun when you had someone to play with after all Doll mused to herself, bringing forefront her reasoning for avoiding the room. Yeva snored softly yet somehow managed to still make the noise cross the room, the sound causing her daughter to gaze towards her with a soft smile for just a second. A fleeting instant where one could see Doll not have a resting face which made others hesitant to approach. Yeva snored again and Doll slunk across the lounge room and over to the bookshelves in the next minute, her footfalls soft and softened further by her onesie as she scanned the rather chocked book retaining construct.
"An Idiots Guide On How To Restore The Elden Ring", she skimmed past that one despite its attractive appearance. Next on the shelf was "MEGADEATH, the book", along with all four parts to "History of the Starless Age". She had already learnt most of that history in class as it was practically common knowledge that at some point in the past humanity had simply forgotten about Copper 9, or at least to what Doll could remember it had went like that. She kept looking across the shelf, a finger sliding down the bulky spine of "JCJ Drone Manual Version 6, now with information on Training Chews" before running it over to the face of "Woodwork, Archery And 1000 Other Hobbies". Stopping to take a look up towards the topmost shelf. There rested a scrapbook, its cover was marked with the traits of a well lived book as the spine was marred as to show its age and how often it had been opened. It sat alone, in a way, Doll could see that it hadn't been set up like that as the book gave a sense of longing. Like a model with no painter, a photo without its photographer. Doll sighed and turned away from the scrapbook. The camera that went with the book now sitting with the book in her mind, shaded by the soft ceiling lights as it listened to the mirthful discussion of to people who had long changed. Shame it could only record a moment and not a forever. Had, had only recorded moments Doll corrected her thoughts before she frowned at herself and moved back from the shelf. Bumping into the empty dinning table as she did, the girl quickly checked to see if she had disturbed her mother. She hadn't moved an inch nor reacted to the noise in any way at all, which was a good thing. Doll would rather let Yeva finally get some semblance of rest over keeping her up for no reason.
Fortunately for Doll, the four drones who had so unceremoniously invaded her house and kept Yeva up were already out the door and far along their trek to the school district of the colony. Thad and Uzi talking between themselves as they took the lead while Thera and Emily trailed a little further behind, mostly because Emily had taken half an hour to get out of bed even when pestered by the others. Which wasn't good but then again, they were all already late when they left and as a result Uzi had decided to vocalize her many opinions on school as the group speed walked there. None of them were awake enough to full on run except Uzi, who wasn't willing to do such activity despite the fact it left her close enough to the others for them to try to socialize with her.
