Honestly, this is the shortest chapter that I ever made here in Under Pressure, and honestly, I am quite glad. In my personal opinion, covering this exam is a pain in the ass, it's not bad compared to the Sports Festival, because that took TOO long, but fuck it, here we are. Hope you enjoy Chapter 23– Note from Ronin.

The scene opens as Ezra stands amidst the battlefield, his chest rising and falling as he surveys the destruction left in the wake of his earlier battles. All around him, students are still clashing in the free-for-all portion of the Provisional Hero License Exam, but for a moment, everything feels still. Ezra's focus narrows in on two figures standing across from him—Leland and Airi.

Ezra tenses as he sees his childhood friends, Leland with his broad frame and earth-touched aura, and Airi, graceful yet commanding as she hovers above the ground, the air itself bending to her will. Both of them stand ready to face him in battle, and he knows they won't hold back.

Leland steps forward, his tone light but his eyes sharp.

Leland: "Well, well, Ezra. Who would've thought our reunion would happen like this?" He rolls his shoulders, the ground beneath his feet rippling slightly as his Tectonic Envoy quirk responds to his emotions. "Time to see if your training has really paid off."

Airi smiles softly, her black and white hair flowing in the air currents she manipulates. Hydrokinesis keeps her hovering effortlessly as moisture from the battlefield gathers around her in an almost serene fashion.

Airi: "You've come a long way, Ezra. But don't think for a second we're going easy on you."

Ezra cracks his knuckles, a small smile creeping onto his face. His body hums with the familiar crackle of electricity from his Bioelectricity Quirk, amplified by his Ascendant Form. His hair slightly lifts as the blue energy flares up around him, his muscles surging with power.

Ezra: "You guys picked the wrong time to challenge me."

Leland: "Nah, nigga, we have chosen the right time to face you," he said with a smile on his face. "I am looking forward to seeing how much you've grown over the past few months."

Ezra: "I could say the same for you, Leland, and you too, Airi."

Without wasting time, Leland slams his hands into the earth, activating his quirk.

Leland: "Let's see you handle this!" The ground beneath Ezra erupts as massive stone pillars rise from the earth, forming a solid barrier that rapidly closes around him. The sheer size of the pillars and their density suggest Leland isn't holding anything back.

Ezra's eyes narrow as the rock walls close in on him. He can feel the weight of Leland's quirk—the strength behind it, the precision. But instead of panicking, Ezra lets his bioelectricity build within him, energy crackling along his skin.

Ezra: "Too slow, Leland!" He shouts as he activates Volt Rush, a burst of speed that propels him upward, avoiding the crushing pillars just in time. He twists mid-air, charging his hands with energy and unleashing a burst of bioelectric power at the stone below. "Electro Wave!" (It's the Kamehameha for those who have read or watched Dragon Ball).
