Poppy paced back and forth in her pod fiddling her fingers nervously. Something wasn't sitting right, and it was starting to really bother her. She felt as if something was out of place, something about her didn't feel right.
Poppy: What if he doesn't love me anymore? What if he gets tired of me? What if he breaks up with me?
She continued to pace, her mind filled with worry and what ifs, she and Branch had been together for a year, and she was worried that he was losing interest. What if he decided that he wanted more than just her? Was there something wrong with her? Poppy looked at herself in the mirror and started feeling a little disgusted.
Poppy: What's wrong with me...? My hair's out of place, I'm getting pimples, I'm overweight...
Poppy started to cry a little but quickly pulled herself together wiping her eyes with her handkerchief. She looked at her hug time bracelet realizing she was late for her date with Branch and went to her pantry to find a quick snack. But then, she thought for a moment and looked around her pod. She shut her pantry door.

It had been a few days since Branch last heard from Poppy, he was waiting patiently for her in his bunker, but she didn't come to their movie night. The last time he saw her, she seemed kind of sad, but he didn't think to question it, she hated being questioned. But since then, he hadn't really seen her. In fact, none of the other Trolls have, was she okay?
Branch: I better reach out to her...
He picked up his phone and dialed her number, but she didn't pick up. He tried again, nothing. Third time, nothing. That was when he started to panic, it wasn't like Poppy to ignore his calls. In fact, she was quite the chatterbox whenever she picked up the phone, she could talk to anybody for hours, especially him. He dropped everything and ran to her pod as quickly as he could.
Branch: Poppy!
He slammed the door open, and what he saw inside...heartbreak. Poppy was out cold on her bed, her bright pink hair looking a little gray, and her pink skin an even brighter skin...but not in a good way, she was pale.
Branch: Poppy!
He ran up to her bed and shook her lightly, but she didn't respond. What had happened? He was worried sick for her, what caused this to happen? This wasn't the Poppy he knew. He looked around her pod for any possible break ins or robberies, her pod was clean, no sign of trouble. However, all he found was her half open journal on her nightstand and a cupcake that looked like it hadn't been touched. He picked up her journal and skimmed it. He was shattered by what was written in it.
Sometimes I look in the mirror and wonder if I'm really beautiful... I wish I could be as brave as Branch thinks I am. Does he really love me, or is he just being nice?
What was she talking about...or writing about in this case? Of course she was beautiful, what made her think she wasn't? But most importantly, what made her think that Branch didn't really love her? He loved her with his heart and soul, he wasn't just being nice. Was this her doubt?
Honestly, Branch is so amazing. He's brave, strong, and thoughtful. I feel like he deserves someone better than me. Someone who isn't always trying to be 'perfect.' What if one day he realizes that? What if I'm not enough for him?
Branch put a hand over his mouth as his eyes remained glued to the pages in Poppy's journal, was this what had been going on? Was this why she looked sad when he last saw her?
Branch: Poppy...that's not true, I love you because of you...not because of how you look, or...anything like that. I love everything about you.
