Chapter 55- February 14th

Flashback

It was Valentine's Day and the school was hosting a pool party for all the students. I didn't want to go to the party but somehow my Mom convinced me to go. She knew I couldn't swim but she told me that I should go, that I should interact with people and make new friends.

She really didn't know about all the bullying going on in school because I never told her. I told her the only reason I'd go is if she didn't send any bodyguard to go with me. At first she didn't like the idea but since that was the only condition I gave her that would make me go, she accepted.

Leo was there to help me if I needed anything, he was always there.

The driver drove me to school as he helped me out of the car and Leo was already waiting for me as he waved at my driver before he started wheeling me to the pool where the other students of our class were.

I was nervous, I knew they were going to tease me about coming for a pool party when I couldn't even swim.

We reached the pool area and just as expected, the mocking started.

“ Oh look who it is," I heard someone say but I ignored it.

" Just leave them, you're here because you don't care about them,” Leo said as he tapped my shoulder in encouragement and I nodded.

My confidence level was zero. I didn't want to be seen in gatherings like this. I watched as the other students had fun and swimmed around in the pool. I was yet to see any sign of Lilly but I had a feeling she was around, waiting for the perfect moment to come out and bully me.

“ Won't you be joining us for a swim? You know it's boring to just watch," I heard Adrian the king of bullying ask.

You know Anna was the overall leader of them all.

“ If you're not blind you'd see that not everyone like to get in the same pool with some no brain drug addict like yourself," I dared to say and to my surprise the other students laughed but I knew they were not only laughing at me for my boldness but Adrian because what I said was the truth.

He has been doing drugs and it wasn't new News.

“ You crippled piece of shit," he said as he came out of the water and was about to come to me but Leo blocked him.

“ Stay back, you started it," Leo warned. I knew he was scared of Adrian but for me he could stand anyone. He has been beaten for my sake, I should really stop getting him in trouble.

Adrian looked at me with hard eyes before walking away.

“ That was crazy, I'm proud of you for standing up for yourself," Leo said as he tapped my shoulder.

“ You should go swim with the others, don't stop yourself from having fun because me," I said,

“ I'm good, I just came here to look at girls with good ass," he said and I chuckled.

" I'll get us something to drink,"  he said before walking away.

I just sat in my wheelchair as I watched other students swim and talk to their friends when someone suddenly hit me on the back.

" What the…" I stopped when I saw Adrian.

“ Where's your little bodyguard?" He asked, looking around for Leo.

" I don't want trouble," I said but he started pushing my chair forward and I struggled.

“ Stop, what are you trying to do?" I said but he didn't stop.

" You should swim,” he said as he kept pushing me toward the pool.

" Stop Adrian! You know I can't swim!” I said but he didn't listen.

" You know I like to listen to my girlfriend and she asked me to make sure you swim,” he said,

It was crazy how the others were acting like they didn't see what was going on. Were they going to watch him throw me into the pool?

“ What girlfriend?! Adrian, stop! Please stop!” I knew that if he threw me into the pool nobody was even going to care about coming to save me, well, only Leo but he wasn't here at the moment.

“ Lilly, wants you to enjoy your swim,”

Lilly? Lilly sent him? Did she hate me this much that she would do something like this? I could die just for their entertainment. I had a feeling she was watching from somewhere.

“ Enjoy," he said with a singsong voice before pushing me along with my wheelchair into the pool.

I fell into the pool with a splash as pain shot through my legs. I tried to swim with my upper body but I couldn't. Instead I was going down.

Were they all going to pretend like they didn't see me get thrown into the pool? Is this what life is supposed to be like? People who didn't care about other people. Then I didn't want to be here anymore, I didn't want to live in a world without love.

I felt myself going down without anyone coming to my aid, I could feel the gate of death already opening for me as my lungs filled with pool water.

But that day I didn't die, redemption came for me but along with it came a deeper hate for her.
