Helies the bully. I can't believe it! Now he'll have more people to prey upon with his so-called "skills." I hate bullies. I hate people who ignore others' feelings, focusing only on their own and disregarding everyone else. I'm not doing a damn personal thing with him; it will be purely royal actions for the people, to help others. That rock, ugh!
In the meantime, the royal staff showed me to my new room. There was a bathtub near the window. Is it a royal custom for people to see their princess taking a bath? The window was actually a door leading to a small balcony. From up here, I could see the whole city. The palace was situated on the mountainside, offering a breathtaking view.
"Shit!" I muttered, quickly covering my mouth.
Why in the hell was that asshole of a future king standing naked on the balcony next to mine? Thankfully, nature had provided some cover; the large leaves adorning the palace walls were enough to shield my view of his... unpleasant sight.
As I stood on the balcony, my heart pounding with a mix of annoyance and disbelief, I contemplated my next move. Helies, the troublesome heir apparent, seemed to have no sense of decorum or decency. How could I possibly share responsibilities with someone so disrespectful?
I turned away from the balcony, resolving to keep my distance from that sort of person. Just then, a group of maids entered my chambers, their footsteps soft against the polished stone floors.
"My princess," one of them spoke with a gentle smile, "the queen requests your presence at tonight's dinner in the grand hall. We've prepared a gown for you."
They laid out a stunning gown before me—a light blue drape dress, adorned with delicate straps on the arms and embellished with white natural flowers that cascaded down the skirt. The gown shimmered softly in the candlelight, its beauty taking my breath away.
"Wow, it's... it's... Uau," I stammered, at a loss for words. "I don't have words. Thank you."
"We will help you to put it on," one of the maids said, approaching me with a gentle gesture.
But I stopped them with a firm yet grateful tone. "No! I'm used to doing things on my own. I can manage," I insisted. "You may go. Thank you."
The maids curtsied and left, allowing me privacy to change into the dress. It felt like I was floating, the material of the gown was so light. I tied my hair in a simple bun, then grabbed a mirror to check my reflection. I was stunned by the transformation—I looked beautiful.
I stepped out of my room, with newfound confidence, but as I did someone else was passing by the door, causing us to nearly collide. I gasped and looked up, only to find that annoying asshole of a future king standing there.
"What in the name of hell are you doing?" I asked, my annoyance at his presence evident.
"I'm going to the grand hall, where else?" he retorted. "You're blocking the hallway."
"Oh, excuse me for having the audacity to occupy this palace, future king." I stepped aside with an air of mock politeness. "Please proceed."
His eyes narrowed for a moment before he took a step closer to me. "Ladies go first," he said with a mocking bow, making a sweeping gesture for me to proceed.
As I moved past him, I felt a tug on my dress, then heard the sound of fabric tearing. My leg was exposed, the light blue fabric torn from the top of my thigh down to my knee. I gasped and glared at the culprit.
"Ah! You did that on purpose," I accused.
"No, sissy," he said with a smirk, "but now it's much better, the dress was too boring."
"Asshole," I hissed, my anger boiling over. I clenched my fist, ready to strike him, but remembered where I was. This was the palace, and I was part of the royal family now, not some commoner getting into a physical fight. I took a deep breath, forcing my anger down.
"Well, I hope you enjoy the view of my leg, bro!" I retorted, "Because that's all you'll see of me."
I turned and stormed down the hall, leaving the bastard to his own devices.
