Seokmin folded his last piece of clothing and his last item to pack. He zipped up his second box and put on his backpack before dragging the two boxes out of his room.

There was no hope.

Joshua hadn't contacted him in over a month and all his own efforts to contact Joshua had failed. Maybe the letter meant nothing to him.

It was his birthday, he should've been happy but he wasn't. He was just miserable. Tied down by the results of his mistakes with no escape.

So he was doing what he knew how to do best. He was running away.

Seokmin's phone started to ring and he looked at the caller id. It was just Wonwoo. He swiped right, accepting the call.

"Hey Min-ah, when are you arriving? Let me know when to pick you up." Wonwoo's voice rang through the speaker phone. Seokmin checked his ticket details, looking for his departure time.

"The flight's supposed to leave by 12:15pm and it's like almost 14 hours I think so I should be getting there by around 2 to 3am." Seokmin did the calculations in his head before replying to Wonwoo.

"Yeah, I'll be tracking your flight so I'll know when you land. See you soon Min-ah, hope you said your proper goodbyes." Wonwoo remarked and Seokmin looked around his empty house which had become his home in the past months.

He had planned to leave as fast as possible when he'd first landed in California but now that he was really leaving, that melancholy feeling submerged him again, making him feel dissatisfied.

"Yeah, see you soon, hyung." Seokmin ended the call, putting his phone in his back pocket. He checked to see if he had left anything, his key in his hand once he made sure as he left the apartment.

He took a deep breath before going to the elevator, tapping the button. The doors opened and he rolled his boxes in before getting in himself.

Reaching the ground floor, he walked over to the receptionist, handing her the key.

Technically, he didn't have to pay rent or even inform them of his move because his father had made this apartment available to him and his father had been the one paying the rent all along.

Speaking of his father, he must have received the message by now but Seokmin was leaving so he didn't care. He was extremely sure that his father wouldn't lay a hand on Joshua.
