chapter 1

ahaan's pov:

A dramatic encounter

"Ahaan beta, come fast. We have a lot of work to finish before they arrive," my mom calls me as I walk towards the living room. " Mom, the decoration is done. Here are the sweets. Everything is ready now, so stop worrying."

 "Of course I'd be worried. They are coming here for your cousin's marriage proposal; everything must be perfect." "My mom says this as I reassure her that everything is perfect. 'Mom, I'll be in my room. Call me when they're gone, okay?' I say while walking towards my room. She replies, 'At least come to greet them once, okay, beta?' I respond, 'Yes, Mom.'"

Inaya's pov:

We finally reached their house, and it's so huge—oh my gosh! "Noor, are you feeling nervous?" I asked her. "No, I'm fine, Inaya. Let's go," she replied. We entered the house, and everyone welcomed us. The interior was even larger than it appeared from the outside.

Hello, welcome! Please have a seat; it's so nice to see you all here. A sweet lady approaches us and introduces herself as Ayaan's mom. This is Ayaan's dad, Ahmed, and these are his uncle and aunt, along with his cousin, Ahaan. Ahaan is studying upstairs so he will join us later. As you all know, this is Ayaan, and she excitedly introduces everyone.

"I'm so glad we arranged this family gathering; we will get to know each other better," my grandpa says as everyone nods in agreement. "So, beta, what do you do?" Ayaan's mom asks Noor. "Aunty, I am a software engineer," she replies softly. "Can you cook?" "Well, yes, I do know how to cook," she answers, unsure of what to say.

"oh ok"

"I think we should let Ayaan and Noor talk alone for a while," his mom suggests. Ayaan slowly takes Noor's hands and leads her toward the balcony. I'm already feeling so bored now that Noor has left. What should I do? I keep thinking about it when suddenly Ayaan's aunt calls me."What's your name, beta?" she asks.

"Inaya Jasmine," I reply."Such a pretty name," I smile at her compliment."You look about the same age as my Ahaan. How old are you?" she inquires."I'm 20 years old," I respond."Oh, okay," she replies.

Now they are starting to discuss my cousin's marriage

I'm sitting in the living room, waiting for Ayaan's mom to bring some snacks. I'm starving, but I pretend I'm not hungry and decline the snacks at first. However, after being offered again, I finally accepted them on the third time. I'm relieved to have something to do for a while.As I'm enjoying my snack, Noor and Ayaan return to the living room and take their seats.

 Suddenly, Ayaan's aunt calls out to someone, "Ahaan beta, come down fast!" Ayaan's mom then calls me into the kitchen to help her, and I follow her.After some time, everyone settles into their places, with the elders on one side and the kids on the other. I notice a guy talking to Ayaan, but I haven't seen him before.

 Just then, Noor calls out to me, "Inaya, come fast!" As I rush towards her, my dupatta gets stuck somewhere, and I turn around to take a look and what the fuck my dupatta got stuck on this random guys watch he turns around looking at me i cannot read his expression right now i run towards him and i start taking it off his watch

he doesnt even move and keeps looking at me idk whats wrong with him and then he slowly holds my hand "let me help u " he says gently pulling the dupatta off his watch. i turn to look at everyones expressions. some are in aww, some are shocked but this guy i cant even tell what he is feeling right now all i can see is he turned as red as tomato. " here its done" he says giving my dupatta back. "t-thanks" i say to stunned to even speak anything. what in the bollywood shit just happened. without speaking a single word i turn back to noor.

"inaya wtf just happened" she screams excitedly "noor calm down it was nothing" "looks like we might end up married in same house" noor teases "stop yaar " i just know she wont stop teasing me for few more weeks. 

"noor who was he" i ask curiously. "ahaan, ayaans cousin brother" she replies with a teasing smile " want me to set u up" she says teasing again " omgg noor shut up i was just curious"
