Thunder rumbles across the sky as light grey clouds loom over the battlefield. Ser Changbin stands at the forefront, clad in silver armor like the thousand soldiers behind him. "Forward! March!" Changbin commands thunderously. All the soldiers headed his command and began to march towards the center of the field, Ser Changbin included. Suddenly, a clap of thunder resounded in the sky, as the ground beneath their feet began to turn to mud, the result of heavy rain from the previous night.
Jaime Lannister sat tall and proud on his brown steed atop a hill, observing the soldiers as they marched into the battlefield. Such a small number of men? he sneered inwardly. The thought of an ambush crossed his mind, yet he dismissed it, believing the king lacked the manpower regardless. A squire rushed to Jaimes's side interrupting his thoughts. "The men are ready Sire," He pants. Jaime turns his horse around and urges him toward his five thousand soldiers.
The king watched his soldiers from the trees when the sound of horses neighing pierced the air. Everyone turned toward the direction of the noise and saw five thousand Lannister soldiers atop a high hill. Chan glanced back at his troops and saw they had halted their march and immediately assumed their positions.
"Charge!" Jaime roars. All five thousand soldiers charged down the hill, swords raised high. Ser Changbin raised his sword and lowered his visor on his helmet.
"Archers," commanded Chan to a nearby soldier. The soldier nodded and relayed the order. As the Lannister army advanced, the archers in the back lines unleashed volleys of arrows, their bows creaking with each release, as the arrows darkened the sky like a deadly swarm. The Lannister soldiers were immediately struck by the arrows, which killed several. The survivors continued their charge forward.
The warhorses charged into the vanguard, violently breaking through the line of men, trampling many soldiers, Changbin was able to move out of the way to avoid being trampled. His armor weighs heavy on his shoulders, but the adrenaline keeps him moving forward. An enemy soldier suddenly charges at him, sword raised high. Changbin swiftly blocks the attempts to kill him before ultimately thrusting the sword through his body.
The clang of steel on steel, the cries of the wounded, and the thunderous hoofbeats of warhorses rang in Changbins ears. Suddenly, the battlefield began to close in on him; the king's and Lannister soldiers, unconsciously, started to form a circle of chaos, pushing Changbin beneath them and trapping him in the middle, nearly suffocating him. Changbin fought and shoved his way to the surface, groaning as he was struck and cut in the process. Changbin burst atop through the circle of soldiers gasping for a breath of fresh air.
Chan grabs his sword and takes a deep breath, he glances at General Johnny who nods his head at him. Chan turns back to look at the battlefield. "Forward!" He shouts. Chan, leading seven thousand men clad in chainmail and leather armor, charged out of the forest and onto the battlefield, catching Jaime off guard. He had anticipated an ambush, but he was shocked to see a greater number of men than he had expected. He was unaware, that the king had allied with Dorne. The seven thousand men immediately began to surround Lannisters who surrounded his men and were picking them off one by one.
Jaime grunts in frustration, tugging at the reins of his horse. The brown steed reared up as Jaime turned it around. He continues slashing his sword at the king's men violently. The sky rumbled with thunder once more before rain began pouring down onto the battlefield, yet the sun was still shining. Jaime noticed that Chan and the ambush soldiers were attired differently from the vanguard. Just a few hours earlier, General Johnny had recommended that the men don lighter armor, as the field would be too muddy due to the rain, and movement in heavy armor would be more difficult.
