TW: MENTIONS OF CHILD DEATH

Felix rushed forward, grabbed the hand Hyunjin had passed through the flame, and brought it close to his face, examining it closely with concern. "Hyunjin, are you mad? Why would you—?" Felix paused abruptly. There were no blisters, not even a hint of redness. His palm felt merely warm.

"I don't understand—there are no blisters..." Felix raised his eyes to meet the prince's.

"I can't make sense of it either. I assumed I had developed a high tolerance for pain, but..." Hyunjin swallows a hard lump and slightly shakes his head. "Do you remember when I was telling you about the dreams?" Hyunjin asked. Felix nods his head.

"A few days ago I took one of them," Hyunjin turned to look at the eggs, "And I placed it in the fireplace."

"Did something happen?" Felix asks, attempting to catch Hyunjin's gaze. "It... It moved," Hyunjin responds. Felix's eyes widen slightly. Hyunjin turns to face Felix. "I got scared and pulled it out of the flames."

"With your bare hands?" Felix gasped.

"Yes," Hyunjin whispered, his voice barely audible. He spoke in disbelief, struggling to comprehend the bizarre revelation about himself. How could he be immune to fire? It was impossible...right?

"Does anyone else know about this?" Felix inquired. I believe my handmaiden Kira might be aware, though I'm not entirely sure," responded Hyunjin.

"We must ensure she doesn't breathe a word about this to anyone. The last thing we need is an accusation of witchcraft against you, leading to a burning at the stake," Felix stated.

"Are you certain you know how to use that weapon, Your Highness?" Lord Haston asked, eyeing Prince Jeongin. Lord Haston had proposed that the prince accompany him on a hunt with some of his companions. Jeongin glanced at the crossbow affixed to his horse's saddle, the weapon Lord Haston was referring to. "Of course, my lord. My brother taught me how to use it. He believed it would benefit me to know how to defend myself," Jeongin replied confidently. "He even had it custom-made for me and gifted it to me on my fifteenth name day." He added.

Lord Haston's brows lifted in astonishment. As they progressed along the woodland trail, a noise caught his attention, prompting him to raise his hand and halt the horses. "My lord, what is it—?" the prince was swiftly silenced by Lord Haston. Another sound emerged, resembling a boar's squeal. "This way!" he commanded, dashing toward the noise. His companions and the prince prompted their horses to follow him.

Lord Haston reined in his horse, prompting the others to do the same as they caught up behind him. The prince nudged his horse ahead to draw level with Haston. "Down there," he whispered, gesturing towards the boar that was foraging in a bush. Jeongin reached his crossbow, "What are you doing?" Lord Haston whispered.

"Hunting," The prince replied quietly. He swiftly loaded his weapon with an arrow and aimed it at the boar.

"Wait-"
