Marcus's POV

I knocked loudly on the beat-up old door and tapped my foot impatiently as I waited. Why did he always take so fucking long?! I had places to be! A person to kill for god’s sake! I rolled my eyes, stupid tech-heads

'I heard that' A voice said annoyed, I looked up to see Greg tapping a weird and chunky device on his head

'What?' I snapped back, confused as to what the hell it meant

'It allows me to hear anyone's thoughts within 10 meters of me. Duh'

'Oh that, of course! Silly me! I can't believe I didn't know what it was! I mean, they're quite common these days aren't they?!' I rolled my eyes sarcastically and shoved past Greg, dragging him by the collar behind me

'I take it you're not in the mood for a cuppa?'

I ignored and carried on through his house until I reached the bookshelf. I hit the button that revealed a keypad that required a four digit code

'Type it in' I shoved Greg forward and he stumbled slightly, glaring back at me, he grumbled:

'A please would be nice'

I just raised my eyebrows, and in a stroke of intelligence, Greg turned around frowning, and punched in the numbers

The bookcase drew back into a slit in the wall and we walked forwards into the square room it had revealed. From there, Greg walked up to a china bust of Einstein (I know, weird right?) and poked the eye. The eye pushed back into the head and was replaced by a small camera. Greg placed his eye up to the camera so it could scan the retina, and motioned for me to come forwards as a round hole in the middle of the floor opened up. I walked up to what Greg liked to call "the rabbit hole" and stepped into the black void, carefully holding back the yell I felt clawing its way up my throat as I fell down the chute. It curved and twisted, jerking this way and that until I finally tumbled out at the end. I could hear a few bangs behind me and I rolled out of the way, just in time to avoid Greg who sprawled out across the floor.

I looked around in awe as I always did. The extent to which Greg was able to manipulate technology was amazing. He had had people build this first of course, but he had been the one to add in all the gadgets and extra bits that made the area like something out of a fantasy story.

Greg led me through the area to his computer and the weapon wall beside it. He sat down and motioned to a chair beside him. I sat down rigidly, beginning to have my doubts. Was I really going to do this? Kill my ex-best friend? Yes, I had to. It was either, live without Max or lose Jade forever. I knew which one I had to choose. I thought of the nights Jade and I spent together, our bodies moving in sync like-

I heard a groan and looked down to see Greg with a blissful look on his face and a small erection poking out from the cover of his pants

Goddamit I forgot he had that on! I reached down and yanked off the headband 'Gross Greg! Get your mind the fuck away from my girlfriend!!!'

He mumbled a quick, embarrassed apology and turned back to his computer

'So what do you want to know?'

I thought carefully and decided I wanted to drag this out for as long as I could. Torture Max's weak mind as he did mine. Make him regret ever being born

'His school... for now'

'That all? Lot of hype over this for nothing' Greg sighed, looking disappointed

'Hey, for now'

'Yeah, yeah I know. I just haven't had a proper challenge in a while'

Greg got to work, doing his little nerdy thing and within seconds, had all of Max's private information up on the screen.
