Angel's POV

Max rolled over and made to get up from my bed

'No, please stay'

'Angel, you know I should go. Your dad will not be happy if he finds me here'

I pouted 'Please, I-... I don't want to be alone' I hesitated. I still wasn't used to letting people in on my feelings, and I was already feeling exposed after the funeral

Max sighed and sat back down in the space next to me. By now I was in a sitting position and he wrapped his arms around me and placed his lips on my hair

'Just this once. I don't thank I should get on your dad's bad side'

I rolled my eyes at him 'I don't honestly give a shit about what he thinks and/or wants he should go back to screwing which ever bimbo he was with last'

'He's still your father though'

I huffed and fell back onto Max 'I don't care. I hate him'

Max smiled down at me 'No you don't. He's your father'

I started to disagree but Max shook his head

'Go have a shower. What are you doing for dinner?'

'I'll just get someone to bring something up. They stayed late today because of the circumstances'

Max nodded before shoving me into the bathroom

I sighed and resigned myself to showering. I stepped under the hot water and allowed it to relax my muscles, taking away all the tension that had built up during the day.

I attempted to be quick while washing my hair, but the speed at which I shave really couldn't be changed. I exfoliated quickly and used some of my essential oils soap (lavender), before racing out of the shower and grabbing a towel to wrap around myself. I styled my wet hair quickly so it looked ok, and walked out of the bathroom to find my room empty. What the hell?

I frowned, all that rushing for nothing? I dropped my towel and walked to my cupboard, grabbing an old T-shirt and some flannelet shorts. I pulled them both on and buzzed the intercom, asking for two lots of calamari and chips to be brought up, I couldn't be bothered with healthy tonight and Max would just have to deal if he didn't like it.

I waited for ten more minutes before I heard a rustle beneath the window and something snapping.

'Shit' Max's voice floated in through my window

I leaned out of the window and cracked up at the sight below me. Max was half dangling in the tree after one foot had broken a branch. He was clutching a higher branch with his arms and holding on for dear life. The look one his face was priceless.

He looked up at me and grunted 'Glad you find me so amusing' before lifting his body up onto a sturdier branch. I had never seen such an impressive pull-up.

I rolled my eyes at him 'Hurry up before dinner arrives, we're going to hide you in the closet'

'What, away with all the skeletons and monsters? I didn't think I was that ugly!'

I laughed at him and stepped away from the window, waiting for him to climb in.

Five minutes later, I hastily shoved Max into the cupboard and called out for Sarah, the waitress to come in. She looked a little suspicious and I guessed she had heard me and Max talking before I got him out of the way

'Sorry, I didn't quite hear you when you knocked, I had the radio on' I lied

The look on her face relaxed a little, but didn't completely disappear.
