After my parents and I were done celebrating, I quickly ran up to my room. I sat down at my desk and pulled out my favorite journal, flipping to a new page before writing quickly.

~Probable Names~

•Patrick
•Paul

•Phil

•Phillip

I stopped there and frowned. What other names start with 'P'? I tapped my pencil on the desk and sighed before writing down a few more names; Payton, Peter, and even Pedro. My eyes went back to Peter for a few seconds before I shook my head. I could never see myself with someone named that.

On Monday, I proudly wore my bracelet to school. Everyone came up to me and complimented it, some of my friends jealous they weren't sixteen yet. My teachers smiled when they saw it, which I would just smile back. I guess this thing was more important than I thought it was.

A month passed when I got another charm. My parents said that it was rare for that to happen, but not impossible. I mean, I'm not complaining. The more charms, the sooner I find my soulmate. I sat down at the table and opened the small white box, raising an eyebrow at the charm inside.

"N Y." I read out, "What does that mean?" I asked, looking up at dad, who was here to help me put it on my bracelet.

"It might be the state he lives in." he explained, "N Y - New York."

"But- what?" I frowned, "We live in North Carolina."

"I know, sweetie." he sighed, "It'll all work out in the end."

"What if we never find each other because of this? What if he gives up and just goes to some random girl? Dad, we can't stay here."

"Hannah-"

"What are you talking about?" mom asked as she walked in.

"He lives in New York." I frowned, "What if he moves down here because he got a N C charm?"

"He won't get anything like you get." mom smiled softly, "Maybe one day, we can move up to New York. Just not any time soon."

I frowned and held my hand out to dad so he could put the charm on, "Okay."

"Don't worry about it, dear." mom said, kissing the top of my head gently.

Two years passed when we finally moved to New York for my eighteenth birthday. Within that time, I never received another charm. I started freaking out, but my parents reassured me that it was normal.  The only problem we had while moving up to New York is the fact that we didn't know exactly where my soulmate lived so we just moved to a random place called Mid-Town. Let's just say I had some sort of gut feeling that we should be here.
