Sick Of It/ pt.2

****two years later****

After Niall told you to quit talking to the other guy, you did. Now it's two years later, and you've tried every way possible to contact Niall. Even the other boys won't talk to you! Who would blame them though, you were the cheater.

"Darling. Quit moping around," your mother scolds you for about the billionth time in two years.

"Mom I messed up so bad," you start to cry, for about the trillionth time in two years.

"You did. I'm not going to deny that. But I also know that you still do love Niall," she says sincerely. You shake your head up and down, wiping tears away.

You were such a terrible person. You've tried everything to get him off your mind, dating, adopting new hobbies, and even decided to go back to school to become a therapist. A relationship therapist to be exact. You wanted to stop other people from doing that horrible thing that you did; breaking a fragile heart.

"I have to go mom. I have classes in thirty minutes," you tell her, while giving her a kiss on the cheek.

"Don't let him get away," you hear her say, before you close the door.

And that's exactly what you're not going to let him do; get away.

****Four years later****

Some people say that you fall out of love,
but how could you? Some also say that you can never fall out of love. You strong heartily believe that it's simply impossible to fall out of love, because it's so hard to fall in love.

Love is probably one of most powerful words in the whole entire world. Before you met Niall, you didn't believe in love. You thought it was the most ridiculous things in the whole world. But what you also realized is that you just have to find the right person who can really show you what love really is. And that's exactly what Niall did for you. Then you go out and cheat on him.

Even though it's six years later, you still can't stop thinking about him. He was your everything, your rock, your whole world. and he left at the blink of an eye. Before you could even react, he was gone.

Enough with the sappy stuff. Here's what's really gone on since Niall left you.

1.) You realized that you could never fall in love again. Afraid of breaking another's heart.

2.) You successfully adopted many great hobbies.

3.) You also adopted two cats.

4.) You also went back to school, and became a very successful Therapist.

5.) You've almost... almost... gotten over Niall.

6.) (The last ones a lie)

"You're next patient will be here in twenty minutes," my assistant... secretary... whatever you wanted to call her, tells me.

In twenty minutes time, you've managed to cry your eyes out, drink three cups of coffee, and eat four cupcakes. Go say your life was a mess would be an understatement. It was completely and utterly ridiculously freaking messed up so much.

"Are you okay?" My patient asks me.

"Aren't I supposed to be asking you that?" You pointedly look at him. He shrugs.

"So, are you?" You ask him.

"No," he admits shamefully.

"Tell me, everything," you command as nicely as possible. You grab your notebook, and pen. Ready to write his troubles down.

"My girlfriend broke up with me because I cheated on her," he sighs, and shakes his head in disappointment. He's as broken as you were.

You deliberately put your hand on his shoulder, he tenses and looks up at you.

"I know that feeling," you admit to him. Instead of helping with his problems, you just pour all of yours out on him. "I cheated on the love of my life six years ago. The biggest mistake of my life was letting him go. I didn't even fight for him to stay! It took all my will power to call and at least make things right. When he didn't respond, I gave up. I gave up on the most important person in my life."

He just stares at you with a shocked expression.

When he doesn't say anything, you continue. "I've tried to figure this question out in my head forever. I've broke down every word, every syllable. Can you fall out of love? Many say you can, many say you can't. I believe you can't. What do you believe?"

"I-I don't know, honestly," he admits.

"If you believe that you can fall out of love, then don't even beat yourself up about this girl. If you still love her,
then fight for her! Don't let her go because if you do, you'll regret it for the rest of your life. The thing is, don't beat yourself up about it everyday. If you honestly believe that you can fall out of love with her. Then you know she's not worth your time to fight for her, and you can find someone just as good as her. But if you truly believe that it's completely impossible to fall out of love with her, then all I can tell you to do its; fight."

"That opened new doors for me. Thank you," he smiles up at you.

"So you know your decision?" You ask him.

He nods. "I've realized that if I really did love her,
then I wouldn't have cheated on her. Or maybe I just loved her so much, that I had to hurt her. No matter how sick and twisted that sounds, it could be true. But I really truly believe that I've slowly been falling out of love with her."

His words opened a door for you as well. Maybe you loved Niall so much, that you had to hurt him.

"How are you now?" You ask the same question to every patient after their session.

"I feel a whole lot better. I just need to look throughout the city to find a girl that suits me," he grins. You grin back at him.

His grin falls, and intently looks at you. "You can't fall out of love with him, can you?"

"No," you truthfully admit.

"Then I also have one word for you," he intently says, "Fight."

With that, he thanks you again and leaves your office.

You get up from your office couch, and shakily make your way to your desk.

It was time to fight, and this time you were going to win.
