2 HOURS LATER
"WHAT IS THAT?" Heimerdinger questioned, looking at the Hexcore with a cautioned gaze.
The four of them (including Poro) stood inside the lab. They had invited Heimerdinger to help with the situation, with hopes he could know what to do and try.
"I'm calling it the Hexcore. It's an adaptive rune matrix. Hextech...that evolves," Viktor explained, almost optimistically.
Poro whimpered, slowly hiding behind Heimerdinger. He was scared, before Korra crouched down and snapped her fingers quietly. He ran over to her, rubbing against her before plopping down onto her dress as she rubbed his horns.
Jayce spoke up. "It's...it's groundbreaking! What's more exciting is that it reacts to biological matter," he described, motioning to the matrix itself. "There are stories of healing magic. Our samples thus far have perished..."
Korra looked down at Heimerdinger, and examined his face, getting a read on him. He stared at the Hexcore, with a concerned and uneasy gaze. His furry eyebrows knitted together, growing deeper in thought.
"You must destroy it."
The trio all looked at each other, then Heimerdinger. "W-what?" Viktor questioned, taken aback.
The professor looked at them, before closing his eyes and looking back at them. "Please, if ever you've put faith in my guidance, hear me now. I've seen nations destroyed by a single seed and it looked..." he looked away from Korra's eyes and pointed right at the core. "Exactly like that."
She spoke up, slowly standing up as her braid fell onto her shoulder. "Professor, this could save Viktor's life...!" She pointed over to the unhealthy man.
Heimerdinger looked over at Viktor, before a worried gaze entered the mix. "Viktor, something's different. You've changed. What did you do?"
Viktor sighed softly, before looking away from the Hexcore and facing his mentor. "What do you mean, Professor?" He asked.
"It's that thing!" Heimerdinger concluded. "It must be destroyed!" His little legs walked closer to the table, determination in his look.
