★⋆. ࿐࿔ 🎀 — KAMARIA'S HOME
I was sat crisscrossed applesauce in my quiet room. Originally it was just a library but Aubrey wanted me to have a place where I could be by myself. She had put a comfortable couch in here, a mini fridge for when i'm hungry, and there was a balcony if I ever need air. Every book i'd ever read was in here — plus books i've never read before.
I had on my beats, the song SULLEN GIRL by FIONA APPLE playing in my ear with the book PICKING DAISIES ON SUNDAYS by Liana Cincotti on my lap. I had been in here all morning, well after Aubrey forced me to go eat breakfast.
The new house was actually nice. Sure I missed where we used to live but I liked this place. Spent most of my days in this room. Didn't really have anyone to talk to other than the team since Juju left and me not really knowing how to talk to new people.
I flipped over to the next page, the song LOVE IS ONLY A FEELING by JOEY BADA$$ playing. The feeling of someone wrapping their arms around me made me jump and pull off my headphones. I turned around and it was Juju. Immediately I climbed over the couch and jumped into her arms.
Juju hugs me to her chest and my shoulders instantly relax in the comfort of her body. I rest my chin in her neck, a couple of happy tears dropping. I'm guess Juju felt my tears cause she pulled away and her hands instantly cupped my face, moving it around and checking.
"Angel? Why are you crying?" She worriedly asked. I cupped her cheek and shook my head. "Nothing — nothing. I just wasn't expecting to see you." I was so glad that she was here. As much as I love spending time with family during Christmas, I really wanted Juju here and that's exactly what I got.
I pulled her back into a hug and she made sure to wrap her arms very tightly around me. Rubbing her hands up and down my waist as she kissed on my neck. "Of course i'm here Angel, you really think i'd let you have Christmas without me?" She laughed, her laugh tickling my skin.
We stood there for a while, enjoying each other's presence. I wasn't sure when we'd get to do this again but I made sure to take it all in. The smell of her floral smell goods, suffocating my nose in the best way possible. The sound of someone coughing made us pull away.
Aubrey smiled at the cute scene before talking. "Sorry to interrupt but we're doing secret santa and the girls are all over the place to know who they might get." She crossed her arms and left out of the room, Juju looking back at me then gently held my hand and walked behind Aubrey.
We walked downstairs and all the girls looked at us, big smiles on their faces. Before I could say anything, they pushed me out of the way to hug Juju. Making me stank-face all of them. Aubrey laughed at my face before pulling me into a hug. I let myself get comfortable in her arms.
She let her head fall onto mines, rocking us back and forth. I tilted my head slightly up to look at her. "You planned all this?" I mumbled into her chest. Aubrey laughed and nodded her head. "Take this as an early Christmas present."
"Okay! Okay! Can we choose our person now." Jana clapped her hands to get our attention. Everybody laughed and Aubrey went towards the table to pick up a small box full of pieces of paper. Everyone picked one paper then discreetly looked around. Juju sat down on the couch and pulled me onto her lap.
Aubrey picked one up then set the box down and opened her mouth. "Okay y'all can look at yall paper now." Once she said that everybody looked at their paper. I moved off of Juju's lap and she raised her eyebrow at that. Obviously I didn't get her but I did get Morgan.
The team looked around the room with weird looks. Aubrey held the box back out for us to put the papers back. Juju pulled me back onto her lap and I smiled. "I think we should go to target." I asked but also demanded at the same time. If that makes sense.
"Alright. I'm fine with that." Juju nodded her head and tried to get me up. I sprawled out on her which made both of us laugh before getting up. I went into the hallway closet and got my hoodie. We walked to the front door and Juju opened the door for me. I thanked her and walked out, waiting for her then walking towards her car.
We got in and she started the car up, some podcast playing as soon the car turned on. I side-eyed her before turning my face away and letting out small giggles. Juju placed her hand on my thigh and squeezed it. "Don't laugh at me." And with that she started driving, arriving at target 20 minutes later.
