Lily crawled her way through the vents. It was going good so far! And she knew where she was going to. And where she had been.
Sure the vents were dusty...and covering in cobwebs...and dust....

But it was all completely fine!

She would just need to be brave. Like bubba!

She wasn't lost or anything either. She made sure to memorize the turns she took just in case. Right, left, right—

Or was it left?

Lily gulped, suddenly feeling like the walls were getting smaller. Huh, that was a new feeling. Why was she having that?
She knew her way!

Right?

Lily looked back behind her. She gulped, realization setting in. She didn't know where she was at all.

Right left—which ways had she taken again.

Lily trembled. She hiccuped, crying. No. No she couldn't do this! She needed her mom—she wanted her mom!

SCRATCCCCCCCCCHHHHHHHHH

Lily froze. What was that?

SCRATCCCCCCCCHHHHHHH

Lily hiccuped, crying harder and in a panic. Leave—she needed to leave! She crawled forward, frantic as she took whatever turns there were. Trying to get away from whatever that—that thing was!
Of gosh, was it one of them? One of those creatures?

Lily huffed, sitting still and slapping her cheeks. No she had this! She could take one! They weren't even scary—she could beat one up!
She turned behind her. Time to face her fears! Like Ben had!

SCRATCCCCCCCHHHHHHH

Lily froze as she felt a claw graze her foot. She turned back around.

There, with a wide grin and hanging upside down, was one of those things. A phantom.

Lily screamed. She jerked forward, falling backwards. She kicked its face.

"GO AWAY!" She wailed. She crawled forward as fast as she could as it chased her. She kept looking back, trying to take twists and turns to confuse it.

She didn't notice the fall.

And in an instant, lily was barreling down towards the ground.

THUD!

"Did anyone else hear that?" Tyler asked, sitting up in his room. He could've sworn he heard a scream.
The others aside from Ashlyn shrugged. Ashlyn strained from beneath Aiden, trying to listen.

"Yeah. I heard it too." Ashlyn mumbled. "Do you think?"

"It's probably our imagination." Ben's phone said aloud. "Can we focus?"

"Get these two off us and then we can talk." Logan snarked.

Taylor pinched his side. Logan yelped.
"Not the time." Taylor mumbled.
Logan sighed, feeling bad. Accepting his fate of being squished to death(again) by Taylor, he nestled his hand in her hair.

"So this maverick guy wants to help us?" Tyler asked.

"I doubt it," Aiden said. "When has anyone besides Alex wanted to help us?"
"Well—" Taylor started.
"Woman I said besides Alex."
Taylor sighed, rolling her eyes.

Ashlyn sighed, leaning back into Aiden, accepting her fate like Logan had.
"No. I doubt it." She said. "He was standing right next to the woman who put us into this mess."
"He's probably her boss.." Logan mumbled. "He won't want to help us—he'll use us."
"She's here—you know what why am I even surprised of course she's here!" Tyler threw up his hands.

"Well that doesn't matter." Ben argued. "If we join him, destroy this place, then we have our freedom back."
"Yeah but he didn't mention freedom though, did he?" Tyler asked. "Just that his group wanted to take this place down."
"Ben, we're just as upset about this but we can't rush into trusting this guy." Taylor mumbled.

"We can't rush into but.." Logan said, glancing at Ashlyn. "We don't really have a choice do we? Alex said he'd try to help us escape, but he can only do so much. This is the government. We'd have to leave the country or something and even then we could still be tracked. And we can't free our parents and escape at the same time..."

"I'm with Ben and Logan." Aiden said. He had a glint in his eyes—angry. "I'd much rather go up against some vigilante group than the government."

"He thinks we can potentially open rifts between our two dimensions. That if we figure out how to control it, we can mess with their systems like  Logan and Ashlyn earlier." Ben explained. "But it wasn't just them. All of the cameras in our room apart from Ashlyn's because she was in the other room. The only reason the lights didn't stay off was because they had a backup generator, the camera system takes a bit to reboot though."

"So basically he's saying if we all hold hands and believe in the power of friendship, we'll create a rift large enough to bug out their entire system?" Tyler said, deadpanned. He groaned, holding his head in his hands. "God, all of this is giving me a headache!"

"I need the aspirin more than you do." Taylor said. Her cheeky smile faltered, and she buried her face further into Logan's shoulder. "I just want to go home..."

The others went quiet. Yeah...they wanted to go home too. Desperately. But...that wasn't an option for them at the moment.

Ashlyn sighed. "Let's take a break then. Just for tonight...let's forget about this mess."

The others looked around at each other. They nodded. That seemed...well that seemed like a great idea.

(A/N: Ok ok question question question. 1 or 2?? Cause I need to make a choice and I'm indecisive as fuck. I'll go with majority.)
