08:50 AM. NEW NINJAGO CITY

"do you think we're doing anything important in lessons today?" y/n asks elena as they sits together in their form room. the two best friends had met up and decided to take the bus to school. did they get attention? yes. was it a lot? yes, of course, it was. but they could do it. together.

elena shakes her head, putting her book down.

"i don't think so," she says, putting a pink bookmark on the page she's reading. y/n got it for her; just for no reason. y/n loves buying people stuff for no reason. just like her mother. "why are you asking?"

"it feels like something important is going to happen today," y/n says, looking out of the window on the classroom. it's foggy as it's february. but everything goes silent, peaceful even. until there a small tremor in the ground. instinctively, y/n and elena reach out for each other, holding hands as they look around.

cole looks up, feeling the earth upset. he's not doing this. the rest of the gang look around. what is going on? seriously? a school day?

"everyone under the table!" their form teacher says, guiding people under the table so that they're safer. this is the earthquake procedure but cole would be able to sense an earthquake happening and he would be able to stop it enough or absorb the tremor so normal people wouldn't be able to feel it.

"can we have a hall pass please?" the ninja's all ask at the same time as their form teacher hides behind the desk that they usually teach from.

"it's 'may we'," the teacher says, peeking out from the desk with their big glasses covering most of their face. "'may we have a hall pass'- you know, this is weird but i am too old to question this. go ahead,"
