Vol. 8 Ch. 13: See You on the Other Side

~Third Person~

"All personnel? Pull away from base operations...Moving back into priority zone Victor."

...

"What do we do now...?"

Oscar spoke out, but as soon as he said that? A sudden gate appeared right behind them. They were shocked, appalled, but Ren was quick to speak.

"We stick to the plan."

"How? Without the CCT, there's no way to tell ALL of Atlas to step into a bunch of freaky magic doors!"

As they spoke, Emerald turned and approached the door as he had her arms crossed over her chest.

"But there is. We use the portals ourselves, and spread the word on foot."

"Are we positive these things work...?"

All would turn to look at Jaune who whipped around to see all eyes on him, so he sighed out with a slouch of his shoulders. The next moment? Time and space seemed to warp around Jaune as he yelled out, every sound echoed and bounced off one another. Suddenly, he burst out onto the other side with a small thwack.

Sitting up, he groaned and put a hand to his mouth as he grunted. Sighing out in relief as the others stepped through before looking around in shock and awe. With Jaune now on his feet, his turned to face the others with a look of confidence.

"Okay, we can do this! Nora and I will get people through the gates. Everyone else, keep to your roles! Remember, the evacuation is priority one no matter what else happens."

"You sure you won't need more help?"

"Shade is armed to the teeth with Huntsman and Huntresses! But we're about to throw a Kingdom's worth of negativity at their doorstep. If anyone needs help? It's them."

Nora gave a determined glare as Ren smiled, nodding soon after before jogging away. Yet Emerald soon sighed out as Oscar stared at her, soon she chased after Ren. Oscar would give one final salute to the others before jogging off as well as Jaune put a hand to Nora's shoulder. Sprinting off the platform, he activated his shield as Nora leapt off with her hammer, but curiously enough? She brought the hammer under to sit on top of it as it gave a pink trail as she flew into agate.

In the Atlesian Subway tunnel?

"W-What is it?"

Soon around the track, the rails of the stairs, and the top of the stairs? Distraught and confused civilians looked on at the gate. A man nearby was pushed forward with a stumble before growling and looking back. Picking up a rock, he threw it and shielded himself just in time for-

"Everyone-! Ow!!!"

For Jaune to suddenly be hit by the rock, making everyone gasp out and dive back into cover. After a moment, they poked back out to look at Jaune as he winced before straightening out. Pulling his scroll out to show his Huntsman License.

"I'm- uh, gonna need your attention...!"

Penny would float through the gate into the Central Location using her Maiden powers. The others followed suit as she adorned a look of pure awe at what she was seeing. The others stood back in awe as well upon seeing all the gateways and people beginning to arrive.

One such group was Fiona stepping through the gate with a little stumble before looking to her side. Seeing the gang, she gave Ruby a bright smile and wave that Ruby returned until perking up as they all heard Jaune as well as Nora.

"Keep moving, come on!"

"That's it! Watch your step!"

Nora would be seen flying through the air riding on her hammer once again as she Joanna could be heard scolding some people for pushing. May, standing on a platform, gave a hearty laugh and two finger salute.
