Chapter 29: Apologise

Keegan's POV:

So today I was spending the day with Ashton. It was a different turn of events and it was the first time I had ever done anything like this before

"Ok so who is she?" I asked him, referring to the girl he was going on a date with tonight
"Her name is Lacey and she's an intern at a magazine here in Sydney" he told me and I nodded
"Ok. How long have you known her?" I asked and he shrugged
"A couple months now. We met when we came here in August. We exchanged phone numbers and we've just decided to start talking. So after talking non stop for about a month, I worked up the courage to ask her on a date and to my advantage, she said yes" he told me and I laughed
"A simpler answer would have been fine but that will do" I said and we both laughed
"Come on Keegs, I need help! I dunno what to wear!"

He dragged me in and out of multiple stores, trying to find the right thing to wear.
"Ok, how many days have you worn those straight?" I asked, pointing at his black skinny jeans
"Clean on today" he said and I nodded
"Ok, just checking. Alright, and what about this?" I asked, holding up a dark grey t-shirt with the American flag on it. He stroked his chin and narrowed his eyes
"That could work" he said and looked at the other shirts.
"And maybe your black leather jacket and some boots?" I suggested and he nodded
"I like that idea. See! This is why it's good to have friends that are girls" he said and I laughed
"I reckon. But I kinda have to be friends with you guys for Luke" I said and he pouted at me, clutching onto his heart

"My heart, it hurts" he said and started to stumble. I groaned and picked him up
"I was kidding. Remember when Luke and I broke up, we still talked" I said and he nodded
"Good, cause you know you and Luke might not be forever right?" He asked and I nodded, pulling him up off the ground
"Yes, I know that. There is a possibility that Luke is not the person that I will spend the rest of my life with. But I don't think about the future. I think about right now, and right now is good enough for me" I told him and he nodded as we took the shirt up to the counter

Ashton's POV:

Ok, so I may or may not have a little thing for Keegan. I mean, why else would I have agreed to be her fake boyfriend. Like I don't like her a lot, only a smidgen. Plus, she loves Luke and Luke loves her, I can't compete with that. That's why in going out with this other girl, because then I will be distracted. She is Luke's girl and that's how it always will be. Even if they break up, I couldn't do that to Luke for real.

We paid for the shirt and then walked out
"Oh yeah, we need to get consumes for that Halloween party that Harry is holding later this month" Keegs said as we walked
"There's an awesome costume place near here. We could go have a peak if you like?" I suggested and she nodded. I really liked spending time with Keegan like this. It was fun to just hang out and talk and have a ball. No security, no screaming fans. Like don't get me wrong, I love our fans and our crew but sometimes it's good to get back to your roots and what it was like before you became famous. Privacy is one thing we all miss to a degree.

We got to the costume place and walked in. We looked around at all the crazy things they had.
"I should go as a mermaid" Keegan said, holding up a costume. I chuckled and wiggled my eyebrows at her
"Luke would like that" I told her and her jaw dropped
"No mermaid then" She said and we both laughed
"You should go as a team. Like Mario and Luigi or Batman and Robin" I suggested and she smiled
"YES! Ash you're a life saver!" She said hugging me and ran off towards the superhero section. I shook my head and continued to look for something for myself. I must admit, I wasn't looking forward to this party. All it will be is people I don't know getting drunk, people I do know getting drunk illegally and then Luke and Keegan making out. I would need a lot of alcohol to survive this.
