Chapter 40: Check Yes Juliet

Today we were embarking on a road trip. It was roughly 2 weeks before Christmas and we were spending the next week or so on the road. We were making our way down from Sydney to Melbourne, seeing what there is in between the two places. The smaller towns that bare the history of the place. Ashton came up with the idea, and I agreed because I'd never seen much outside of Sydney.

We were roughly 3 hours into our trip, Ashton had started driving but the others would take it in turns. It sucked that I couldn't help but oh well. I sat in the back with Luke and Calum while Michael took the passenger seat. We had stopped in a place called Gundaghi for Lunch, it wasn't too far off the freeway and it wasn't too city-centred. It was more old fashioned, which I liked. Living in the city makes you miss the quiet and the slowness of the country side.

We had continued on our southern journey, deciding we would chase up a hotel just sort of the Victorian boarder, some place called Albury. The boys hadn't been there before so it was new for all of us. I suppose being on the tour, you don't get to see much outside of the city. Don't get me wrong, the city is great. But I love that the boys live out of the city. Like it's not too far but it's not that close.

"Who wants to drive next?" Ashton asked
"I vote Keegan drives" Michael said
"Have you seen her drive!? She's a maniac" Luke said and I hit his arm
"Rude! I am nothing of the sort. But sadly, no Mikey. I intend on being a law abiding citizen whilst here" I said and he laughed
"I'll go" Cal said and Ash nodded
"We'll stop in about an hour and swap" Ash said and Calum nodded
"Can I plug my phone in now?" I asked Ash and he nodding, throwing his 5 foot long (maybe a bit of an exaggeration) AUX cord. I plugged it into the headphone Jack of my phone and tapped on my Spotify.

"Do you have any We The Kings?" Ash asked
"Only like all their albums saved in a playlist" I said and he looked at me in the rear vision mirror
"Definitely glad you picked her Luke. I condone this" Ash said and we all laughed
"I'm going to play Check Yes Juliet, and you all have to sing it to me" I said and they all groaned slightly
"That's the song that I fucked up in and me and Mikey got so lost" Luke said
"Only because you didn't know the fucking words bro" Mikey said and i saw Luke roll his eyes
"You told me to shake so I did and then my phone decided to fuck up" Luke complained and I covered my mouth
"Sure Luke, blame the technology!" Mikey said, sassily.
"Yo, can you shut the fuck up and let me play the song? There is too much testosterone in the god damn car" I said and we all laughed
"Let's do this" Calum said.

"Check yes, Juliet
Are you with me?
Rain is falling down on the sidewalk
I won't go until you come outside

Kill the limbo

There's no turning back for us tonight" Luke sang and I smiled at him.

Here's how we do" Calum sang and then Ash counted them in

You and me" Luke's arm slipped around me as me as we all looked at Mikey. He nodded and began to sing the next part

Just sneak out and don't tell a soul goodbye

Here's the countdown:
3, 2, 1, now fall in my arms now
They can change the locks, don't let them change your mind"  he sang and I cheered as Ash began the pre chorus
