Everybody eventually made their way to the fast food restaurant, reuniting the group of fourteen people and bringing forth conversation about what they had been up to until then. Nick and Ruby managed to get on almost all of the rides by then, with Jaune suffering through only a quarter of them. The blonde looked like he would rather not eat in fear of losing the lunch to a particularly nasty ride.
Y/n wasn't that hungry and only got a soda as his order. He sipped on it as he watched a conversation between Nick, Ren, and Jaune occur.
"Dude, you have to get on the slingshot before the day is over," Nick said eagerly, leaning forward and biting into his burrito.
"The other rides made me queasy," Jaune replied, laughing nervously. "I might actually get sick if I get on that. Maybe on the way up."
"I would recommend an umbrella if that is the case," Ren said unhelpfully.
Jaune groaned. "Come on! Help me out here, Ren. Ruby and Nick are relentless." He shamelessly begged his teammate, sipping at his drink while debating whether to eat his fries and burger.
Ren thought about it. "Only if you help me."
Jaune blinked, perplexed. "How?"
On the other hand, Nick burst into laughter. "Coco made him his pack mule. Right?" When he received a nod, he covered his mouth. "So that's the story behind what you're wearing. Did she do the same to you, Y/n?"
Y/n flicked the front of his cowboy hat in response.
"Coco is quite... assertive," Ren commended, lifting his drink. "But she is rather skilled at those games. She only lost at the one of chance."
"I bet she is," Nick flicked his gaze over to Coco nearby. "You guys heard about team CFVY, right? They are the best in the second year. It's hard to believe they're only a year above us."
Ren nodded.
Jaune buried his face into his arms on the table. "This is hard..."
"What is?" Ren asked curiously. He assumed his leader spoke about their classes. "The classes are not supposed to be easy, but they can be tricky at times. I assure you that—"
"Not that," Jaune shook his head. He lifted his head, leaning forward and glancing toward the girls not be heard by them, who were sitting only a table away behind Y/n. "I wanted to... well, I..." He hesitated, a light flush to his cheeks appearing. "...wanted to ask Weiss to go on a ride with me."
"Oh."
Jaune laughed dryly. "Nick, you got her name, right? Can you—"
"No fucking way, you idiot." Nick interrupted, shaking his head. He gave a nervous smile when Pyrrha looked at him from nearby. Leaning forward, Nick continued, "I get it that you have a crush on the Ice Queen, but if you do that, she will hate your guts more than it seems like she does."
Jaune shrank in his seat. "...Is it hopeless?" He mumbled, eyes falling closed.
"...She may have her reasonings," Ren assured.
Nick snapped his fingers. "Yeah, she does. Did you ever think that maybe Weiss is guarded because she thinks you're trying to get in her pants because of her name? To gain power over the SDC?"
"What?" Jaune snapped his head up, surprise lacing his boyish features. "She... doesn't think that, right?" He searched helplessly at the other guys for an answer, receiving silent acknowledgements that it was like that.
