After exploring and taking pictures of the ruined city, Edros and Akimitsu felt it was safe enough for Aster to use the crystal orb to determine where they should head next.

No creatures lived in the city, which was a little surprising since the radiation levels were low, and trees and plants were abundant. They even saw weird fruits growing by the river, but they were unsure if they were poisonous, so they didn't touch it.

Edros picked Aster up and helped him get off of the mecha. He gently placed Aster on the ground. "Do you feel okay?"

Aster nodded while holding the box in his hands.

To be honest, he wasn't sure how this crystal orb worked. It didn't seem to follow any magnetism anchoring points like most compasses. So, how was it pointing even when they were on planets with different magnetic fields?

"What's wrong?" Edros thought something had happened to him, like with Ellery, who told him about how dazed he felt when he used the orb for the first time.

"How does this work?" Aster tilted his head in confusion. "Each planet has a different magnetic field, right? So how does it know where to point?"

Everyone knew that Aster was curious and liked to ask questions, so no one felt it was annoying. It was a bit endearing that he always strove for knowledge.

Unfortunately, no one understood how this crystal orb worked either. Emperor Eliane told them that this crystal orb would ignore details like that because it would always accurately point in the direction they needed to go.

"I'm sorry, Aster, I don't know either."

"That's okay; I was just thinking about it. Maybe I can ask the Beast God, if we can meet them."

Even though he wanted to know, it didn't stop him from doing what he needed to do. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath before pouring some of his spiritual energy into the orb.

Just like Ellery, he felt a weird sensation of being drawn in and his spiritual power being sucked out of him. He did his best to control the output, but the crystal ball was greedy and wanted more and more.

When he was down to the last 10% of his spiritual energy, it finally stopped, and a bright light gushed out of it. Once it settled down, a slightly more opaque arrow was pointing slightly Northwest.

Seeing this, Edros mapped out the coordinates relative to where they were standing on this planet and then circled an area of planets in this line of direction. It was still a large number of planets, but with the color of the arrow, they knew they were going in the right direction.

When Edros was done, Aster put away the crystal orb, but he was pale and tired.

"Do you want to go rest?" Edros was used to Aster retreating when he was spiritually tired.

"It's okay; I can stay out a little longer."

Even though he was fatigued, Aster wanted to make it back to the spacecraft - just like Ellery had the previous time. Plus, he wanted to spend a little more time with Edros, who was always excited to see him.

Edros didn't know Aster's true thoughts, but he did feel relieved to know that Aster would stick around a little longer.

Unlike Ellery, Aster did not have a lot of energy, so he couldn't be with Aster as often as Akimitsu and Ellery could be together. He felt a bit jealous but also grateful for the times that Aster wanted to be by his side.
