Part thirty six; proving yourself

Lucy smiled "I'll see what time I can spare" she replied and Grey nodded "That's all I'm asking for" he added and Lucy nodded as she walked out, back to Tim and Nate "So how was the speech?" Tim asked and Lucy smiled "Fine, nothing that I haven't heard before" Lucy replied and Tim nodded "Alright, let's roll" Tim said and they left for the marine base, "How did you meet?" Lucy asked on the way over there "military, we were in the same division" Nate replied from the driver's seat and Lucy nodded "Have any embarrassing pictures to share?" Lucy asked and Nate grinned while Tim rolled his eyes.

They arrived on the base and entered as they were met with the 'gym' part of the station and they were met with about 20 men working out in the area, some without and some with shirts on (double smash types) as everyone looked up and Lucy locked eyes with Tim as she smiled "Good morning to you too" she whispered and Tim crossed his arms as he playfully rolled his eyes. A guy (shirtless) 6'2" (ripped) walked up to them "You finally got me a good birthday present?" He said as he looked at Lucy as she smiled slightly and Nate rolled his eyes "Nick, are you single?" Nick asked, sticking out his hand and Tim smiled as Lucy looked at him and shook his hand "No, I'm Lucy" Lucy replied and Nick's friends grinned.

"And married, sorry" she added, showing the ring on her necklace, looking at Tim as he shook his head, smiling. "You lying son of a bitch" a guy said from the back as he pulled a shirt over his head and walked up to Lucy as she smiled "Hey sexy momma" he said as he gave her a hug she returned warmly "Hey James" she replied as he pulled away, Nate and Tim frowned at each other, pupils blown wide as did the rest of Nate's team.

James took a step towards Tim and shook his hand "James Stevens" James introduced himself "Tim Bradford'' Tim said back as he nodded "so, why are you here?" James asked, focusing back on Lucy "Who is dead?, please tell me it's your dad?" He asked as everyone was taken back and Lucy tilted her head "James" she added "Yeah, alright, too much of a long shot" he added "Wait, are you pregnant?" He added and Lucy put one hand on her hip "Do I look pregnant to you?!" She added and James smiled "Alright, sorry" he added.

"No, your and my boss teamed up and forced me to be here" Lucy added and Tim smiled as everyone looked confused "Do you guys know each other?" Nate finally asked and they looked at eachother "Yeah, Lydia is my sister" he replied and Tim rolled his eyes "Of course she is" he murmured and Lucy laughed "You call your sister a sexy momma?" Nick asked and now James laughed "It's a thing from when we were younger, a guy called her that in high school for like a whole semester everyday so she spray painted it on his car" James said and Lucy looked embarrassed as Tim smiled and the rest laughed. "You do not look alike at all" a guy from the back said, looking at the differences, black and blonde hair and quite tall and short.

"Oh, yeah we're foster siblings" James said and the guy frowned "I didn't know you ended up in foster care?" he asked and Jamed smiled "I didn't, she did, she moved in with her brother in our family" he added and the guy stepped forward a bit "Daddy issues?" he asked as he held out a hand and Lucy laughed "Yup, Lucy" she added and shook his hand "Travis" he introduced himself "So she's technically not your sister?"Nick tried and Lucy grinned.

"Go shoot your shot Nick, she doesn't do Americans" James added and Lucy rolled her eyes "Wait, you're the girl from the video?" A guy said from the back as he walked up to them and Lucy frowned "Video?" She asked "Oh, yeah!" Another guy said and Tim and Lucy looked confused "What video?" She asked again and James smiled "Remember when we took a video, a tutorial for that knocking out trick you do when we were like 15? I showed it in here but we simply can't do it" James and Lucy laughed "You showed that?!" She added.

"Please tell us it was a one time thing and it was just luck that it worked in that video because we've been trying for months!" A guy said and Lucy smiled "No, sorry, it is really learnable" she added as she looked Tim's way "Do you still have the video?" He asked "Yeah, ofcourse, here I'll look it up for you" James replied and moved over to the Beamer "James, come on, please" Lucy tried but James pushed the play button and a video was shown, very bad quality as it was years ago and a very young James was on the screen in a basement with gym supply's "Lydia, are you done?!" He shouted "Can you braid my hair?" Lucy asked with a bit of a higher voice as she stepped into frame.
