Glancing at the clock, I notice that it's 6:45 at night. I'm laying on my bed, scrolling absentmindedly through my Twitter feed. I read and reply to some of the tweets I see and receive, laughing at some, sighing at others, and occasionally adjusting myself so I'm more comfortable. This is how I've spent today. It's not how I'd normally spend a day off, but our bosses up at Big Hit insist that today is a day of "relaxation." Relaxation— according to Namjoon— means everyone sleeping until mid-afternoon and then making excuses to lounge around and do as little as possible for as long as possible. Admittedly, I do think I kind of need this. I've been working very hard for quite awhile, so getting to spend a day doing absolutely nothing is mildly refreshing. From elsewhere in the dorm, I suddenly hear Taehyung call my name, jolting me from my partial hibernation.
"Jiminnie! Could you come here for a moment?"
I sigh and groggily pull myself from bed. "Coming," I reply to Taehyung. I make my way from my bedroom out into the main living area. Jin is watching TV and Taehyung is talking to himself from the kitchen. No one else is in sight. I pass through the living room, intentionally crossing in front of the TV to anger Jin. I pause in front of the screen, turning to my friend and speaking.
"What are you watching?" I ask him, smiling innocently.
"At the moment, your fat head. Move," Jin says. Chuckling, I move on towards the kitchen.
"Hey, Jimin, where's the basil?" Taehyung asks me as he rummages through the kitchen pantry.
"I threw it out, Tae," I reply with a sigh, watching as my friend visibly shrinks a little, putting some jars back on a shelf and closing the pantry door.
He turns to me, speaking. "Why? I wanted to use it for dinner today."
"You bought it three months ago, and ever since then it's just been taking up space in the pantry. I assumed you forgot about it, so I just threw it away. Not only do we never cook with it, but it was dried. Fresh basil is way better. And since when do you like cooking dinner?"
"That's beside the point. I wanted to cook today, and now you've gone and ruined it all. You're unbelievable, Park Jimin."
"Don't worry, Taehyung, I'm sure your cooking wouldn't have been any good anyway," I say, laughing.
"That's rather rude, wouldn't you say?" Namjoon suddenly appears behind me. What with how clumsy he normally is, his rather stealthy approach is unusual.
"Yeah, Jimin. That's rather rude," Taehyung repeats. I roll my eyes at him.
"It's not like you don't know it's true, hyung," I say to Namjoon.
"You're crushing Taetae's dreams, Jimin," Namjoon chuckles. "For that, you owe him an apology."
"Since when did you become my mom?" I ask Namjoon. Sighing, I turn to Taehyung. "Sorry, Tae. I shouldn't have thrown out your stupid basil."
"Hyung, that was not a sincere apology." I jump as Jungkook seems to materialize behind me, putting a hand on my shoulder. What's with all the sneakiness in the dorm today?
"I agree with the maknae," Namjoon says. "How about you just go out and buy the boy some basil?"
"Must I?" I ask. "Are we really all up-in-arms about an herb right now?"
"Just do it, Jimin," Jin says from the couch. "It'll go more smoothly if you just admit defeat."
I groan. "Fine, I'll go get your stupid basil. Where are the keys?"
