[Season 2 WIP] From Zero to Inferno (Fire Force X Reader)

Forewarning (SPECIAL)

"Doctor Chi? Doctor Chi, you have a visitor."

"Huh? Right. Bring him in."

She looks over the medical records in her office, trying to figure out about reversing a disease. A certain disease that affected a certain somebody.

She looked over at Konro's medical records, glancing over the symptoms.

"Overheated. Dehydrated. Painful all over. It's like a flare up in a sense. But permanent."

She hears the doors open up and waved at the person without looking. The person looked back at her and looked all over her office.

Her office was just as you would expect from an insomniac-research driven doctor. Documents were spaced everywhere on the desk, yet it was somehow organized in a way.

"Yo. Chi." The man tried to catch her attention.

She stopped for a bit, realizing the mannerism and speech, before turning around to see Karim.

"A-Ah, Karim!" Doctor Chi said as she quickly changed her tone. "What- uh- brings you here to my office?"

"Just wanted to know how you've been doing. I've managed to get a day off to come and watch, you know?"

"A day off? In Company One?"

"You wouldn't believe what I had to go through." Karim said. "Huo Yan Li is covering for me."

"Well then, come and have a seat Karim."

"It's honestly refreshing to see you again, Chi."

"Same here. I haven't seen you guys in like ages."

"It hasn't been that long."

"It's been an entire four years since I transferred out of Company One, Karim. I've also heard that Rekka- He was part of those kidnappings."

"He was. I couldn't believe how long it took us to realize."

"I wouldn't have known either. After all those times when Rekka said he would take the kids back home, I didn't think that he would do such a thing."

"It shocked you too, huh?"

"Of course it did. Rekka is more of a meat-head than anything. Also,  on another note, when exactly are you going to take Tamaki back?"

"Probably never." Karim said, scratching his head.

"N-Never?" Chi said, surprised at Karim's response. "Why?"

"It's not that we don't want her-" Karim tries to think of an excuse as Chi waits. A moment passes.

The clock ticks.

The silence eerily stretches.

"You don't want her because she keeps using her Lucky Lure, is that it?"

"N-No.."

..

.

"Yeah."

Chi sighs.

"I get it, but at least tell her that you don't want her back."

"The thing is- she'll probably feel bad for not doing enough."

"It's better to hear it early than later. Sometimes I feel like I should've applied to Company 6 earlier. Right now, I'm trying to see if I can solve the Tephrosis disease."

"That's impossible to do."

"That's why I'm doing it, Karim."

"Do you even have any ideas?"
