Chapter 38: It Can't Be! Lucemon Reappears

Just when they thought they had beaten that RAT, Cherubimon, the guys realized that the worst was yet to come! Takuya and Koji unified the spirits and evolved for the final battle. Unfortunately Cherubimon has been compressing all the data he'd colleceted into a little glowing orb that he shoved into his forehead, making him the most powerful digimon ever! As EmperorGreymon and MagnaGarurumon, along with the spiritual support of the entire digi-gang, Takky and Koji eventually vanquished the vicious villain! But they unleashed a whole new horror in the process.

The kids, Aegiomon, Patamon, Bokomon, and Neemon stood on the cliff's edge. The Digital World is still as black as night, and the Rose Morning Star glows brightly overhead.

Bokomon: Huzzah! Huzzah! 😭

Patamon: Oh boy!

Neemon: [Laughs] Yeah! All three hold hands and begin dancing for joy.

Teruo: I can't believe it.

Chiaki: It's finally over.

Tommy: It feels like a dream. Takuya pats Tommy on the shoulder.

Takuya: Well wake up, buddy, 'cause we did it! Cherubimon's gone, and the Digital World is safe again!

Tommy: Yeah!

Koji: That's strange. Koji said with a frown.

Koichi: What is, Koji?

Koji: The land that was lost should have come back by now. But the Digital World's surface still looks damaged! The 3 digimon stop dancing.

Bokomon: What!

Neemon and Patamon: Wha?

Aegiomon: He's right. Aegiomon said looking a bit pale.

Takuya: This doesn't make sense! When the data was restored, the land should have been restored with it!

Katsuhara: Yeah, so why hasn't it?!

In the distance, the Mountains warp and begin to sink. Its data was shown and was soon being absorbed.

Takuya: I don't believe it!

Tommy: That doesn't look good!

Bokomon climbs fearfully on Takuya's back, and Neemon does the same to Tommy.

Bokomon: Oh dear, what now?!

Neemon: Huh?! The Mountains sink completely.

Teruo: The mountains are gone.

The destruction of the mountain causes wind, smoke, and dust to blast towards the group. They let out a cry and do their best to shield their faces as it rages around them like a windstorm, gusting at their clothes and hair.

Koichi: What's happening?!

Takuya: The data got scanned!

Zoe: Could Cherubimon still be alive?

JP: He can't be!

Chiaki: We all saw his data being purified, so it can't be him!

Teruo: Then what is it?!

Takuya: Let's go see!

After some walking, they approach some sort of temple shrouded in mist, with the walls are covered with inscriptions. Something watches them from the inside. Takuya notices as it runs past the window in a blur.

Takuya: Huh?

JP: Hey Takky, what is it?

Zoe: Did you see something?
